If someone signs a warrant on you for harrassment..

and you don't show up to court, what happens? If a person goes and signs a warrant on you for harassment, is it civil or criminal? I'll be damned if someone didn't do this shit to me, and if its civil, I might not even show up if nothing will be done.
 
lmao I dont know american law, but I bet its criminal and you need to show up and defend your self ie lawyer
 
If you are notified by the court or served papers by a cop or other rep of the court you need to show up. Otherwise they can conduct a hearing and find against you as well as arrest you for contempt of court. Most often although they will just serve you with a restraining order and as long as you don't have any contact with the other person, nothing will happen. The order is called a PPO and can prevent you from getting certain types of employment in the future.
 
Depends on the state. In PA there are varying degrees for harrassment. If they can only state 2 out of five it won't stick.
