Docs my girl had a shot on her quad some test. the following day it started to swell with redish color and pain on the swelling. What do u think is the best way to do with this problem? is it abccess? she went to dermatologist today and the doctor told my girl its just the reaction of the oil and hot compress will take the swell and pain away. What do u guys think? I am so worried about her. She will be competing next week.

this happened to me one time when i took a shot on winny. It went away after a few days. i could barely walk and had a fever and the area was hot and swelled. Its more than likely the oil. Its very fucking painful..but it went away...after a few dayys...

I'd ice it for a bit rather than have a hot compress only, the heat will add to the inflammation whereas the icepack will make it subside and numb the area somewhat.

Thanks you so much guys. Hope it goes away before next week. I told her already to do cold compress and take advil to ease the symptoms

Sometimes shots can be painful it does not necessarily mean an abscess... The number one sign of infection is a fever. Red painful swelling that persists past a week would also be a reason for concern. Glute shots are probably the least reactive. In terms of dealing with the swelling, I was always told Heat to dissipate the oil. Ibuprofen would also help if she were in that much pain. Most people who use AAS have had a bad shot or two I know I have!

As a side note make sure you are using a clean injection technique

Yes it was a clean injection with proper parafernalias

Ibuprofen and a heating pad. The heat will help the oil spread and the ibuprofen will help the inflamation. Also the quads really is hit or miss. More often than not they will leave you walking like you were hit in the leg with a baseball bat. The quads are alot tighters and have alot more muscle fibers and nerves packed in than other injection sites. Next time use the delt or ass lol

Forkboy, spot-on advice here. Ibuprofen is noticeably faster than aspirin or tylenol at relieving inflammation. Heat is better than ice for this type of swelling. ;)

Thanks bro such a great help. she take ibuprofen last day and had a hot compress on the injection site. Yes things are better now the redness starts to fade away and the pain as well thank you so much guys. Yes she will be competing next week for ms. Philippines 2009 figure.

What kind of test are you using? Any UG test does that to me.

Why is your girl using test anyway bro? Did she swell up like a grapefruit yet?
