Something we could maybe all relate to.....

Roid rage is a widely heard term whenever the topic of steroids comes up. But is it even a thing? And if it is, what is behind this so called ?roid rage?? In this article, you?ll get the key information and background about this phenomenon.

What Does ?Roid Rage? Refer to
The phrase ?roid rage? refers to the aggressive behavior that is sometimes seen in people who are using steroids. The stereotypical image is one of a bulky bodybuilder injecting a steroid and then suddenly bursting out into a fit of rage.

Roid rage because of steroid use

However, as with all stereotypes, that image is not totally accurate. There is a risk of increased aggression among steroid users but it is not nearly as instantaneous or out of control as it is made to seem.

And some users are prone to extreme aggression than others. There are a lot of factors that go into it so it?s not as straightforward as it is made to appear.

What Causes Aggression in Steroid Users
So if aggressive behavior can occur in steroid users, why does it happen? Well, the answer lies in the testosterone hormone. Testosterone is naturally found in all humans. Its job is to trigger muscle growth, maintain energy levels, and increase sex drive among others.

Testosterone enanthate can cause aggression as a side effect

It also increases strength and encourages competitive behavior?for the sake of sexual reproduction. Even in the natural amounts found in men who do not use steroids at all, testosterone?s effects can already be strong enough to cause aggressive behavior.

You?ve probably met people in your life who seem to have anger problems or who are quick to aggression when they feel threatened or offended. This is (partly) being caused by testosterone.

So in steroid users, testosterone levels are being boosted higher than they normally are. This can have the effect of increasing aggressive behavior because that?s one of the things that testosterone does.

However, it?s important to understand that steroids will not turn every person into an uncontrollable rage machine. If someone has issues with aggression already before starting steroids, the chances of violent outbursts is very high but in the average user who is more even tempered, the aggressive effects will most likely be milder and may only turn out to be increased motivation to workout.

Channeling roid rage during workout

Basically, if you?re angry before you start using steroids, you?ll be even angrier after. And if you?re calm and even tempered before steroids, you?ll most likely just feel an intense urge to work out or otherwise use up the energy building up in you.

With that said, there have been cases where otherwise even tempered people start using steroids and find they are having aggressive outbursts that could be called ?roid rage? even though they aren?t normally angry or aggressive otherwise.

How Can I Manage Aggression While Using Steroids
If you are worried that excess aggression from steroid use could be a problem in your case, there are some things you can do to minimize and manage the effects. Try out these tips to keep you calm, cool, and collected during steroid cycles:

Managing side effects of anger and rage

Nip it in the bud. If you feel the anger rising rapidly and are about to lose control, stop everything, close your eyes, and breathe. If necessary, just leave the situation that?s triggering the situation. Go outside and take a walk. If you can stop an outburst before it happens, the urge will pass and you?ll return to normal.
Take it out in your work out. If you find yourself getting angry, letting that energy out in the form of exercise can help calm you down. When an outburst is on the way, it can feel like you have all this energy in you that needs to explode out. Channel that into a workout that not only prevents you from a rage outburst but helps you achieve your gain goals!
If your immediate urge is to yell and punch something (or someone), take a step back and try to express what is bothering you in full sentences. Try to keep perspective as much as possible by realizing that, considering the circumstances, you MIGHT be overreacting. So express yourself in full sentences, using your indoor voice. And then quietly listen when the other person expresses their side. And really listen. Instead of picking apart why you disagree with it, try to figure out why the person might have a different view of the situation than you.
If these sound like strategies for controlling everyday anger problems (steroid caused or not), that?s because they are. The trick with dealing with aggression, no matter what might be causing it, is to try and keep perspective and stay calm even when you feel it boiling up.

Aggression Outbursts during steroid cycle

If you feel like it?s becoming a very serious problem and interfering with your daily life, consider taking a break from steroids for a while and practicing these aggression management techniques while you?re off them. Then, once you?ve gotten better at them, you can try steroids again and see if you?ve gotten better at managing the problem then.

Final Word
In the end, whether or not you experience something like ?roid rage? while using steroids will depend on you. If you struggle with anger problems as it is, the chances that steroids will make that problem worse is pretty high. But if you are pretty even tempered as it is, you?ll have an easier time dealing with this side effect.

I don't have to read that to tell you it's not real. If you can't control yourself from being an asshole you're probably an asshole to begin with. I've said it before and I'll say it again. We all have our moments but if you blame steroids for your actions of being a complete prick and disrespect of others maybe you shouldn't take them in the first place because you're probably not mentally stable normally. Just my opinion. I've come across all types of people. Show everyone respect. Steroids or no steroids.

I had low test and had more rage, frustration, aggression, and a full on type A personality. I haven't fully committed to trt yet, but while on I noticed a sense of calmness, relaxation, and a balance between type A and B I've never felt before using. I've never tried Tren, but I haven't experienced any roid rage if it even exists.

Part of the appeal of AAS is the attitude change: confidence, assertiveness, aggressiveness speed of thought, of curse strength size and leaning. Do stuff that is really really androgenic like Tren and some of those traits are magnifies to a point that could be problematic in some people. Winstrol also does it to me. Test just makes me happy, funny and gregarious. Add in Mast and add in horny.

I get super horny as well especially on tren. But yes you can get more assertiveness and aggression but that's never translated to me disrespecting or attacking someone. It's not rage. Tren seems to be the culprit for many. It doesn't affect me the same way as most but if something made me a prick I'd drop it immediately. I think others should as well if they can't control themselves.

I completely agree with you on this but case human studies have indicated that anabolic steroids increase irritability and aggression. The studies suggests that the mood and behavioral effects seen during anabolic-androgenic steroid misuse may result from secondary hormonal changes.

And I also agree that if users cannot realize how their actions effect others by their use then have have no business cycling.

I have a friend who is a complete moron and he thinks just cuz he started test e at 250mg wk he has instant aggression and uses it as an excuse to bitch at his wife or about other people. Complete idiot. That's not how it works. So I was mainly thinking of him when writing that. I have experienced increased aggression but it's because my levels have increased. Doesn't mean that aggression automatically translates towards others. It helps my drive and competitiveness. It's a good thing but it has never changed how I am towards people. I think this is where people get confused that increased aggression means anger. I'm calm and happy when on. I can only speak for myself though although I think a lot of guys exaggerate.

I have to throw this out there, IF and ONLY IF one were to adopt the belief that some form of minute "rage" or momentary loss of self-control exists which some people called "roid rage" it would be with tren.

I've had times where I'm like "why the fuck am i so aggravated" to the point where i almost start pissing on myself because I can't get this aggravation out.

I believe that it goes unsaid that steroids do not cause one to lose the complete ability to control their actions. Words are a bit harder though.

I believe roid rage was used as a political tool for anti steroid propaganda. That said, roid rage is absolutely real. When I start a cycle I have to constantly monitor myself. I get VERY aggressive to the point of constantly being ready to be physical. A couple years ago I dropped a guy in public for saying "F U Old man". I would never have gone there if not cycling. I am too old to be knocking heads but I was on enan and running hot.

Those of you that have read my Tren posts know I can't even use it because I don't trust myself.

For those that claim there is no roid rage well..... except for tren.... Does that really make logical sense?

Androgens increase aggression. How one uses that aggression varies. Some use it for the gym, others punch their wife. Depends on what type of person you are from jump. I for one definitely feel more aggression when on. But if channeled right, it's not a bad thing.

Everyone's different Dakota. Unfortunately we can only go off of what we've experienced. I've never experienced anything alng those lines even with tren so I think it's exaggerated while it might be very real for the next guy. Bottom line. If it makes you not able to control yourself don't run it. No one likes an asshole.

It's been my experience over the years to note it's the more aggressive guys who compete in sports at a higher level, and the more aggressive guys who experiment with steroids and or use them as a training tool.
It's also been my experience how very few assholes I met over the years who regularly use anabolics. In over 35 BB competitions I have never seen fights or arguments among competitors, and trust me, this is when your emotions are high and your nerves shot from weeks of dieting. I get tense and feel crabby on tren but I have never lost control. I have at times over the years lost my temper when pushed to my limit by some asshole in a bar, etc. Then the fun begins.

A guy who's an azz is gonna be a bigger AZZ when on AAS. Can't forget dieting, especially when low carbing. For me, it's what I eat if my moods are off...

I'm an aggressive individual by nature. Test usually calms me down. Tren and Mast both tend to make me overly aggressive. But on a civil day where the world is good I have no.problem knocking someone's teeth out for looking at me wrong.

Assholes are gonna asshole. Amped up test only gives an excuse. Says someone who can be a world class asshole.

If guys, hell, even ladies that test up, could remember to check their ego's, that angst to feel angry and unchecked, aggressive, could be used to feel personally powerful and confident; which is must more effective than being a dick IRL.

General Mad Dog Mattis said it best; and this applied to gear heads if you need a mantra to settle the fuck down: Be polite, be professional; but always have a plan to kill everyone you meet. It works.

Having kids helps. Much of my day is spent enjoying & playing with my 6 y.o son, and we get each other laughing so much to tears, my ribs hurt, and he gets the hiccups. If you're an asshole and wanna run tren, have a kid first. :D

Tren kind of turns me into a zen master. I feel so confident on it that it actually takes more to rattle me when I'm on. The lack of quality sleep is what starts to turn me into an asshole. I have really only "raged" on someone once. I was on test and masteron, and I scared the living fuck out of a lady who honked and yelled at me in a parking lot. I kind of blacked out, and it hit me that I was standing in front of her car just staring her down like I was going to eat her

That's some funny shit right there! It would be funnier yet if she was white. This big, black 6'2 300lb dude looking ready to freak on soccer mom bwahaha! :D
