Is this a good diet strategy

IMO it's alot more complicated than necessary. What are your stats and what are your goals?

okay, i'm 6 foot tall. At work i weigh 192lbs. I dont know how much body fat i have. Something round 13-16. I'm guessing. But thats cuz i havent been able to go to the gym for like 2 months cuz of a hernia. With that formula thing it says i should weight 171 lbs, cut. Which i think is really light for me. I should cut at like 180ish. But i've got a diet i'm figuring up with the pro/carb and pro/fat setup. I'm just not sure how many calories i should take in, to cut. I'm also trying to cut right now, then i'm going to bulk. I'm going in 6 week cycles. Is that too short of a time period?? Should i go 8 weeks each??? But i'm a hard gainer and i'm just trying to figure out what i have to do to get my body fat below 10, closer to 6 is my goal. But i'm also tryin to gain weight, in a different cycle. I'm just trying to look fit, with a 6 pack, while getting bigger. Well thats my story.....soooo. Thanks for the help.

OK at 5'7.5" I'm ripped at 176. So at 6' tall eventually you would want to be over 200 pounds cut. It's fairly hard to do, but it is possible to cut fat while adding lean muscle, I'm doing that now.
I would suggest that you multiply your weight in pounds by 12, this gives you your allotted calories for the day. The ratios of food is essential. Shoot for 55% of calories from lean protein sources, 30% of calories from quality carbs and 15% of calories from healthy fats.
If you feel after six weeks that your not getting lean fast enough cut calories by going 11X bodyweight in pounds. Never drop your calorie level below 10Xbwt. Regardless of calorie intake the food ratios must remain the same.

Okay i'll give that a try. Now what weight do i want to go by?? Do i go by my target goal of 200lbs or do i go by my current weight or should i go with say 180 for now??

You always go by your current weight as your weight drops, so do your allotted calories per day.

So if i'm where i want to be in 6 weeks should i go ahead and go into a bulking cycle?? How long should i be on that cycle??

Hey K-flip,
I echo everything liftsiron has said... I (along with most everyone else) have his same approach when bulking or leaning down as far as leveraging calories to achieve one's goals. One thing that helps in this entire process is to have clearly defined goals. To state the obvious...without knowing where you're headed---you'll never get there.

Are there any other goals besides trying to get to 200 lbs? For example do you have any coinciding strength goals while you are bulking? Or, for example, perhaps you want to grow your quads to a certain measurement or get your deadlifts to a certain poundage... having realistic goals (written down) helps me tremendously. It also keeps you focused and from ending up in an aimless routine. It's hard to give you definitive answers seeing as how you will know what kind of training, nutrition, etc. that best suits you.

Having clearly defined goals will help you determine how much longer you need to bulk. For example, if you reach 200 lbs, but are only 10 pounds under your bench press goal---why not keep striving for it before quiting?? Hopefully that makes sense.

Again---very general info...just my $0.02.

Yea, that is really helpful. I never really thought about going for goals on my strenght, or on the size of things. I just know i want my arms, legs, and traps bigger. But i'll definetly keep all of this in mind. And thanks for the help, i really appreciate it.
