Good interview they just didn't bite. The lady told me they hired somebody else, but my friend in the department said that's bullshit, that he went in today and everybody just got switched around a bit to cover the classes.
It's not a total loss, though. At that school I would have been on pins and needles, and with everything else going on in my life I really would prefer to just live. I don't have to try hardly at all in my current position, and I get paid very well.
I stand to get 17K off my college loan just for finishing this year at the current position. Five years at an economically disadvantaged school gets me the reward, and this is my fifth year. Didn't want to loose that so close to the wire.
Also, the new school would have indercut my salary, by 8K a year on average, for the next five years below what I make now, so I stand to loose another 40K. Combined with the 17K already mentioned, that's a loss of over $55,000 in the next five years alone. Even though my salary at the new place would and could ultimately go higher, the higher money later on will not have the same value of what the money would be worth today, so, in a financial sense, the verdict was not so bad after all. Fuck it, there's a rave on Friday night, ha!
