Larry Wheels I Relapsed and I Quit

Nothing against Larry. I knew this would be tough. But I could not wait to see how long it lasted. Your either in the game or not. Changing from powerlifting to Bodybuilding is much of the same. when you are at Larry's level. "All Eyes on Me" The Naysayers love this. Ask Lance Armstrong

It's hard to stop. Its easy to go off for a while with a drawer full of gear. But to go off empty handed? It's hard. And having the drawer full of gear you'll always hear that sirens call.

I don't care if he uses gear or not. But to call a decision to take gear "a relapse" seems like a bit of a stretch, and frankly seems an insult to anyone who has recovered from a heroin, meth or similar addiction.

I would have more respect for him if he would have just said, "I started using again cause I like being huge."

That's what I'm saying. I've never met anyone who walked away cold turkey, and then talk about it. I like Larry, I was following him closely just to say he was the first to walk away without major health concerns.

I hope he does well. Lance never did anything that everyone else wasn't doing.

ABSOLUETLY AGREE! I have several friends with major addiction issues. However, getting into health and cycling and not treating it like another addiction has been their saving grace. They learned discipline, focus, a positive attitude, have become better folks in society, and the ones that are my true friends... are still alive to talk about it.

Gear IMO takes much more than just "getting sucked into what it feels like." When you get high, there's no work involved until you're hooked and robbing people to get high (which is the part that takes no effort). Doing gear doesn't do much of anything w/o the work behind "the magic elixir." Which we all know isn't magic.
