A friend who owns a gym hired young trainer and he sent the kid(23yrs old) to me to mentor him with training. he says he's been training 3yrs and want to compete bodybuilding/powerlifting. Since gym owner is a good friend of mine, i offered first session for free. Then i see this real fat kid 30 min late, says he wants to improve his back/delts. i test his movements, poor muscle connection and can't even finish a set due to aerobic fatigue. i said to myself, this isn't gonna be good....
He talks about reps in reserve, stimulus vs fatigue and he doesn't like hard reps as he fatigues too much.... i stayed more than an hr(1hr 45 min), making sure he gets the info he needs and he says he's gonna stay and do chest/back today because he missed chest day yesterday... see what's wrong with all these..?
i told him, what he needs is high effort training and he'll need to do that for about 6yrs to build impressive physique. he didn;t seem thrilled with the idea... plus he says he is 235lbs, I'd say he's about 260, another red flag.
then he sends me about 5 videos a day asking me about his form, i make corrections, well that i can deal with.. I even gave him 3 options for splits. he says he'll do Dorain yates 4days split. It's only been 5 days and he asks if he should add extra ''touch up day for back and delts" I know where this is gonna go if i don't address this now, i'll be like Alexa answering his questions without making a dime on my time. when someone asks training related questions, I give long answers and usually give more than what they asked for. this is starting to waste a lot of my time.
i told the kid to buy this book(anatomy of strength training, a must have) and told him to hold off anymore questions until we meet next time. I think his feelings are hurt, but i can't keep wasting my time with every little stupid questions for some who may or may not commit as a client. I believe his motive was absorb as much free information as he can without paying for my time.

LOL!!! Dude I just finished 12 weeks with Branch Warren for $1200. He gave me a training regimen. 5 days on two days off. And he gave me a meal plan 5 meals a day. Then send pics detailing every angle of me weekly. He made diet adjustments based on those pics. He also kept me on.low doses of test weekly and 4 iu of hgh daily. That was all I needed. I lost 20lbs and gained large amounts of muscle. This dude isny motivated to.put in the work. He wants a magic pill. Diet and training advice should be all he needs then the rest in on him. You're way too nice.

Sorry brother some people don't want to train or just want someone to talk to . I would tell him he is only gonna get what he puts in . Hell I would have been motivated to have someone helping me for free lol

The gym I go to is a nice gym, has everything anyone needs to train with. The majority of people that go there waste their time with effortless workouts.

I’m sure this is a pretty common problem trainers face. A buddy of mine does training and runs into a revolving door of not so serious clients. They train for a few sessions, learn some basics, and then quit after a short period. Hard to get clients to commit much more than 1 month at a time for payment. It’s a tough cycle for a trainer with run of the mill clientele.

cut bait and move on or hand him a bill for ongoing training. Regardless what he chooses, you’ll benefit.

I ended up dropping him.... let him waste years before realizing there's no magic exercises, not my problem.

That would drive me crazy. I was training a couple people for free for a few months and they just stopped coming or wouldn't do the last 3 sets. Wouldn't follow a diet. There's really nothing you can do with that. It's nothing personal but they can't expect any progress that way. Some people just aren't cut out for it.

That's why i.psid Branch $1200. I had skin in the game. So.i would either waste my money or try to get my money's worth out if it. I got my.moneys worth out of it. And also now have 12 week.guide to getting shredded while actually adding muscle mass. I wish I could have afforded the 9k for the year. To some probably just a waste of money. To me, welll worth it but this is both my hobby and my lifestyle. I like being the oldest big guy in the gym. Lol

I completely understand everything you guys are saying. I personally like to see the young people in the gym, even if they are not super serious. It's better then them being on the streets, smoking meth or sticking needles in their arms. They might come around one day, let's try to be patient.

i cant understand the nuts video their training look like crap and are happy with their self that they post it . nothing like looking like shit posting it for the other male vaginas and thinking you have done something .
