I just signed up yesterday, and I'm pretty excited! We walked around at around 6:00pm which is probably the busiest time at any gym in this area, and half the cardio machines were wide open, and the weight area was probably 40% wide open. They have all of the hammer strength machines, couple of power racks, tons of free weights, rock climbing, indoor and outdoor pools (the one that is 20 minutes away has 5 outdoor pools!), and if you bring in your protein powder/post workout drink they will mix it for you in a blender for free! Oh yeah, and it is open 24 hours!! I even got a sweet gym bag for signing up, and Tracy got a gift card to the spa because I came in with her to sign up!

The part that I thought was funny was how hard the person giving the tour kept trying to push the personal trainers on me... I guess I don't look like I know what the hell I'm doing. On the plus side though - if you go through their personal trainer consultations (which are free) you get a $45 gift card that you can use for a massage! So it looks like I'll be going to the 6 classes where some 150lb guy is going to tell me how I should be working out and eating. Tracy told me I have to be good and just listen - that is going to be hard. One of the consultation things they do sounds pretty cool though - it is a "body age assessment" where they do bodycomposition testing, flexibility, and a few other things. That is about the only part I'm interested in, but I'll do my best to be good.

Nice gyms, there arn't any in my area. Similar to 24hour gyms.

Did my first "workout" there today, and took a closer look at all of the equipment - I'm even more impressed now than I was yesterday when I signed up. I heard that they are redoing the workout area this week though - so I REALLY hope they don't get rid of any of the equipment that I like... it being there was one of the main reasons I decided to join!

wow, thats alot of room there... space... thats one thing i hate about my 24 hr fitness.. so cramped.. so i'll prolly suffer the 45 minute drive to goto a golds gym

$120 a month for a single membership no thanks. I'll stick to my home gym.

$120 a month? where deid you see that?

I'm paying $59 a month

I went to the location where I live and it showed $120 a month for all access and $59 for just the sports.

Hmmm... The membership I got was the "sports" membership, but that includes everything they have to offer in the gym... looking on the website it says the sports membership gives you:
With your Sports Membership, you’ll receive:*
2-for-1 greens fees and/or preferred pricing at participating golf courses
2-for-1 lift tickets and/or preferred pricing at participating ski resorts
Membership privileges at participating local and national tennis clubs

Added in-club benefits, as well!**
Free rock climbing wall during open hours (must provide belayer; does not apply at Warrenville)
Free racquetball and squash court fees
and the all access gives you:
Full access to all Life Time Fitness clubs

Free locker and towel service

Experience Life Magazine

LeanSource - Speed Up Your Metabolism DVD

Initial Polar BodyAge™ System fitness assessment

Four VIP guest passes per month

Free racquetball and squash

Free climbing wall time

Discounts to local and national golf, ski and sports partners

Unlimited yoga access

Both seem about the same for all the important stuff - looks like the all access just adds yoga, a dvd, and 2 more guest passes per month...

sounds great

PTA that's funny about the trainer b/c I went in to a gym the other day to apply for a job and a guy who was "working" in the backgroud jumped off the counter and was like "oh you are a trainer wanting a job" :)

I told him I wanted whatever job was available

Sure... you get offered jobs as a trainer - I get it implied that I NEED a trainer! LOL!

Guess I won't look like I know what I'm doing til I'm 260 ;)

Yeah - I'm not sure what it will be like trying to "really" train there... but as long as I have my headphones on I can block out just about anything.
The freeweight area is kind of off in a corner, so hopefully that will make it feel less like a "fitness facility" and more of a "gym".
