Seriously, the website wasnt us, we were the website. Yes, we had some stellar articles (which, by the way, he doesn't own, if he actually sells it he either has to pay everyone that wrote the articles or delete them) and a huge amount of traffic but the day to day was US. The jokes and the drama was all ours.

These guys were awesome enough to welcome us in and while we all loved the layout of MuscleMX (because, no matter what, Antonio did a fabulous job on that coding) we can all come to love this layout just as much and work to make this place the best damn fitness site on the web.

Save your money, buy more watches. :p
 
Thanks, I'm taking donations now. One day soon I will raise the $133,000 in order to buy it.

Great to see you guys come to the same conclusion I did. I was going to post something very similar to what Em said... but I don't really need to.

Sure the layout is different, and the topic headings are different - but you know what? That can all change at any time! This place itself just got new ownership fairly recently, and they are a great group of guys (and girls) - as you guys can plainly see.

Em - you brought up a great point on the articles... and that is why I am so pissed that he shut it down with almost no notice and is trying to sell it. He is trying to profit from the hard work that WE all put into the site by adding our own content. Some of the terms that ranked the highest on search engines (for bringing up MMX) were associated with articles I have written!
Okay... enough talk about MMX... lets focus on helping this place become even better than MMX ever was.

Well, the articles are OWNED by the person that wrote them unless Antonio paid you for them. You CAN (and, in my opinion, SHOULD) require him to remove them or pay you from the proceeds of the sale. He may believe that those are "his" intellectual property but they are not unless you were paid for them. That's really the only thing, in my opinion, that's worth fighting for and most people aren't aware that you can require him to remove them or pay you for them. If he doesn't remove them though you cannot repost them here as "original" work and push up the rankings here.
 
Most of the articles I posted there were posted here first before that place even existed anyway ;)
 
Yes, David. One sponsor in particular covered the cost of the server usage. Granted, that cost went up considerable because of the daily traffic. TP doesn't pay as a sponsor, they have other ways of compensating (primarily product). The other companies were paying sponsors, but paid a bit less than the lead sponsor.

The sponsors paid more than what people were told. The cost of running the site wasn't what closed it.
 
I don't think he did anything shady, I just think he tried using alot of the $ to gain traffic and site ranking because of the name change. Oh well, I'm pretty much done with everything regarding there. Onward and upward, everyone. :)
 
Good way to look at it....let it go, move on....if you have money you want refunded, take it up with him. You can still email him and ask for a refund.
 
Eh, just hack into the site and get everything you want back. :)

Simple as that, lol.

Damn.....what a sucker! I didn't give a rats ass about any of the 'stuff' I just wanted to support the staff who supported me.

I still support the previous staff, and our current staff. You guys have a loyal bunch of groupies here now, I hope you're ready....

The staff and members are what made that site great.All he did was provide coding. Who knows if it got to him or if he just snapped one day. Either way, he lost any respect I had for him over the past few months and as sad as I am to see the site close, good riddance to antonio.

so i challenge everyone to give MTD the resurrection it deserves on here- everyone submit an article, recipe or interview... lets make this site the knowledge beast we've grown accustomed to :)
 
We did have a lot of great info on there, but this site has some great stuff too... a knowledge beast in its own right. The two put together will be a huge massive mother of a monster muscle site!:2:
 
Thought I should add, in case someone hadn't noticed, we have all of the people who wrote the important articles here. We also have the head chef that added all the best recipes (Katie)....We're good to go, nothing has changed other than an address. ;)


Well, we have most of the people, Danny's not here yet but I'm sure he'll make his way over here eventually. He has to, we need to post the "can't fire a cannon from a canoe" article....
