Sooo, I found a snake! I believe it's called a "Kirtlands water snake."

Up until now, I was afraid to handle snakes. This one is my little buddy from our garden. :)

Is it still endangered?

i just saw a three ft black snake in our pond a few days ago. no idea what it was though...
 
I've been seeing a lot of small snakes lately when I've been hiking, They must be hatching here recently because they've all been really small like that one and crossing the trail in the woods..
 
its that time of year.

Sara you're a tougher dude than me. I dont think I would hold a snake.
 
Hey didn't John post recently about the new study that found snake has even higher protein bioavailability than eggs or whey? Sarah did the ol' man send you out for breakfast? Tell the truth. :p

It was harmless. Little snakes don't bother me, but those big ones scare the crap outta me...Once I saw a shed snake skin at the campgrounds, and I stayed inside for the rest of the trip.

Dad used to grow snakes. Kinda scares me to this day, cause he fed them in my room... :ugh:

Hahahaha, nope. :) Hasn't mentioned it, but we did bag the snake up for a little while, so I could take a picture with it. lol. :D

Couldn't find my camera for my life! So I took dads..lol
 
Yep , all these big Ole muscle filled fellas scared of little ol snakes.....lol
I myself consider a snake a danger if its within my space.......
Only good snake is a dead snake......imo....
