Best lineup ever...Zane and Mentzer at their best. But no one could beat Arnold that day!

I think what I like about the old school guys, is that the physiques are more desirable, and a more realistic goal to achieve. They are huge, but still look like people. Zane looks as shredded as hamburger. Awesome video. I wish I didn't pull my chest, this makes me wanna go lift so bad.

One of the most striking things to me is just HOW big of a man Arnold really is when standing next to the other guys. His shoulder width just dwarfs everybody. Also his arms make everyone elses look like 17" - even Mentzers. That was kinda surprising to me - Mentzer, Coe and Callendar had some thick arms, but they look like a childs compared to Arnie. Just imagine if he didn't retire in '75. He was only 28 at the time. Hypothetically and realistically, he could have continued winning at LEAST thru 1983 since he owned Franco & Zane, and nobody doubts he would have beaten Dickerson and Samir. That would have been 14 O's  - a record that probably would have never been broken.

I was thinking the same thing, seeing Arnold next to everyone. He is just a large person. Also noticed his arms were leagues ahead of everyone's. Granted we already knew this, but seeing it in this footage it is very apparent.

I have wondered this myself. As great as Arnie was/is as you said, Imagine what he COULD have accomplished had he not chosen to move on in his prime. Easily well into double digits as far as Mr O titles.

Yes sir. And the reason I doubt the record wouldn't be broken is bcoz back in the day you had a couple guys who were gifted that started winning the O early at 23 & 24 years old - that was Arnold & Haney. However, it doesn't work like that anymore. Guys these days (and past 2 decades) don't have enough muscle maturity until they are in their early 30's at best to win the O - even Heath himself. That means, let's say for example a guy started winning the O at age 32, he would have to continue winning until he is 45-46 y.o to match 14 O's! Not to mention the more competition now vs the Arnie era simply due to numbers. It would be a record for the ages - making Ali, Jordan, Gretzky, Montana, etc look like amateurs relatively speaking. And while this all may sound like hyperbole, it is indeed realistic. Arnold didn't retire bcoz someone was on the cusp of beating him - he was bored of winning so much and wanted to pursue acting. Imagine, even after winning 14 O's, he would still only be 36 y.o - that's still prime age for bodybuilding. If one wanted to even take it further, how would he have faired against Haney in '84 or '85? Can we say 15 or 16 O's? OK I'll stop haha. :)
