So I think I may give this new category a shot. I have always wanted to compete but I have come to the realization that I will never be a mass monster considering I am almost 6'4" and I have floating knee cap which makes adding size to my legs incredibly hard. I probably would have never even thought to do it if I guy who is training for the Mr. Ohio show didnt come up to me and tell me I would be a good candidate for it. There is a show 10wks from now in w.v. and he thinks I should shoot for that. I looked up what some of these dudes look like and they are hella lean lol. I am not 100% sure I can get that lean in 10wks but I am sure as hell gonna try. Competing has always been something that I wanted to do and this seems like the best forum to do it in. Now I need to figure out the proper diet to get that freaking lean lol.

good luck bro and go for it. the worst thing that could happen is you improve and learn.

Ohio?...

Thanks! Yeah I really just want the experience. I am surrounded by people who compete and it just makes me really want to give it a shot. Yep I live in ohio.

I respect your decision to do this.
Getting a good physique is one thing, but finishing it is another thing all-together.
Keep us posted.

Oh I will. Trust me I know it is going to be hard because these dudes are so freaking lean and I am no where near that point right now. I know alot of people arent a big fan of them adding mens physique to shows but I for one welcome the category because it gives the "average" gym goer more of an opportunity to step on stage. I defintely wasnt planning on doing this show so my training and diet were nowhere near geared towards this but I figure what the hell I will give it a shot. I have already been killing the cardio and tweaked my training and diet. I am down 7lbs from last week which is all water I am sure and just shows me how shitty my diet actually was lol.

Try this diet bodyweight in pounds x 10 = your daily calorie total.
55-60% protein 25-30% good carbs and 10% fats. Works like a charm!!!!

good luck bro...its definaitely a learning experience and after the first one youll only get better.

I am working on the diet for sure bro and it sucks already lol. I have been killing cardio 6 days a week for 40 minutes after I train weights. I dont know if its over kill but I only have 10wks or so to pull this off lol.

Thanks! I am hoping to learn alot and see if this is something I would actually like to do. No more talk of competing one day, its either put up or shut up lol.

Embrace hunger...it's a mental thing.
When you feel those pangs in your stomach, say, "Ahhh, that feels good...nirvana!"
When you want to get that endy's triple-bacon butger because you are so hungry your fat cells are begging to swell, have the roast chicken over salad instead (no dressing), and make sure you drink 3 glasses of water before you even THINK about getting that vanilla shake!
You may think I am joking, but I am the 50 year old who lost 50 pounds in 7 months without taking diet supps, and who only lifted weights six times (total) in the whole seven months. Plus, I did no aerobics during that time, but I worked remodelling my house practically every weekend. I skiped one meal every weekend, just worked, worked, & worked.
It was a mental thing, and when I found myself with cravings I couldn't control anymore, I knew it was time for a little cheat meal, or, more appropriately, a carb meal like pasta, pizza (on rare occasions), rice, or bread (multi-grain with hulls over the grains if possible).

Thanks for all the advice man. I definitely use water to help keep me "full" in between meals. I am gonna do my best not to cheat since I only have a limited amout of time(9wks) and I just dont want to hinder my progress.

Just wanted to say good luck bro. its good to have goals. its the best way for me to stay focused on what I want.

Good luck man. I'm to ugly for physique and to small for BBing. there is a Classic division in Europe that is really appealing.
