My bulk is failing...

I just can't eat enough! I eat clean, it's all chicken, steak, natural peanut butter, oatmeal, wheat pasta, brown rice, etc. I am getting a shit ton of protein. I started my "bulk" at 200lbs, one month later I'm 195! My strength is coming back up slowly (did a 12 week cut prior to this), but not my size. I probably take in 3500 calories a day, and frankly I just can't eat anymore! Any suggestions? Am I just being a little bitch?
 
start cooking bowls of pasta with lean grond beef in spaghetti sauce.pack extra meals every day,keep them in a cooler.some days i'll just eat fast food 4x a day.if your a hard gainer like me eating clean and gaining weight is tuff.
 
I make ground turkey, brown rice, diced bell peppers and tomato sauce every week. I use 3.9lbs turkey, 2 cups brown rice and put it into tupperware containers and "snack" on it between meals. It's clean, dense and packed with protein. Gets me toward 400cal/day when combined with my other meals
 
What's a shit ton of protein to you OP? What is your macro split on this? There are some things you can do, and you can get alittle dirty with your diet without getting sloppy.

And FYI, I am using 3420 cals a day super clean and it is a semi-cut. Jus sayin.
 
What worked for me in the past is clean base and then add in to 4000+ cals a day 3 days a week. I have to sort of keep my body guessing. high cals all the time = fat ass. Shocking it = growth. Growth to me is 195 to 220 or 230 after no AAS for 4-5 months.

Add three chips ahoy cookies at the end of each meal to spike sugar and therefore spike insulin. Try it for 30 days and you will see a huge difference. I know it seems simple but sometimes simple just works. Dorian Yates claimed to never go over 4500 calories a day and he was one of the biggest guys to ever grace the Olympia stage.
 
i like some ben and jerry's at night. you need to get in the calories and it doesn't hurt to treat yourself :)

eat clean most of the time, but plan out some cheats that are worth it and really add in calories. yes, you will gain some fat, but if you're like me and you can drop weight without trying, then that isn't a big deal.

I've also started carrying around a small jug of protein with me (bag would work too if it doesn't rip). Few times a day while i'm out and about, just add in a scoop or two to my water and down the hatch. I also don't leave the house without a bunch of snacks. Baggies full of nuts or trail mix, good plastic containers that lock with whatever i cooked, things like that.

if you can't eat anymore at 3500, something is wrong. It is just all about eating meals regularly. Get yourself into a schedule of eating every 2-3 hours and tell yourself that you will be hungry in 2 hours. And hide extra calories, butter is very tasty (or whatever you like)
 
My maintenance is 3500. I'm less than 200lb( 89kg)
I would love to do a dirty bulk hitting 4500 cals! I love eating!!
 
And a little addition that is still clean is start adding some xtra virgin olive oil whenever possible. Those extra cals add up in a hurry.

Fair enough. I'm 6'4, about 195. About a month ago I finished a 12 week cut, mostly CKD. I lost fat fast, I was 234. Right now I'm sitting at about 10%BF. Other than loose skin from losing it so fast, I look pretty decent but I feel small. Daily I eat one steak, 2 chicken breasts, 3 poultry sausages, 2 burgers with no bread, a handful of nuts (cashews, or pistachios usually), and post workout I have a shake (60g protein). For carbs I eat oatmeal, a bunch of multi grain bagels with a bunch of natural peanut butter on them, brown rice, and wheat pasta with olive oil and garlic. I also eat one apple with my post workout shake. Every 1-2 hours, I eat something, some sort of carb or protein. All this amounts to about 3500 calories.

Now, I have been a 300lb fat ass in the past, and I refuse to go back to that. I'm deathly afraid of putting on much fat. I can take it off quickly, but I still have to be careful. During my cut I did crazy cardio, right now I am doing very little. Mostly lifting, ab work, and maybe run once a week. Thanks guys

Absolutely correct here. As a power lifter I have to gain weight to maintain the super heavyweight class, or the open division.
I eat clean meals but eat a LOT of cherat meals, high calorie food. Not necessarily garbage, but fatty foods that you would ordinarily eliminate as a BB'er.

Congrats on your progress ragu i remember u from IS last year and u were like 300 lbs u should be proud....
 
Thanks bro. IS is what got me to where I'm at, and I haven't even done a cycle!!

Lol well your doing it the right way your getting your bf% down before u start....A lot of guys just jump right in and have no idea what they are doing....
 
Fuck all that, steroids still scare me. Until I'm 100% comfortable, I'm not touching em. Plus shit, I can't even eat enough without them, let alone on cycle!

Oh and OP, if you want to eat more, start consuming aspartame based drinks. Trust me, you can easily add %50 to that daily calorie numbers while still eating clean if you put in bunch of aspartame. It is bad for your body, but is still better than mass quantities of popeyes....

I don't see how that's possible, at 3500 calories a day, I was still losing weight! I've given up on bulking for now. I'm going to maintain my weight (200), and try to get a little leaner. Maybe in the winter I'll try it again. I lift 4-5 days a week, and for a while I stopped all cardio. I'm now starting to slowly add it back in.

My opinion is the part that you had lost a bunch of weight and are scared to death to get fat again. If you are training consistently and doing 20-30 minutes of cardio a day dont be afraid to eat a little shit. I REPEAT YOU MUST START A LOG OF YOUR DAILY FOOD INTAKE! You can adjust each day or week to week, depending on how you look in the mirror first then secondly how you are on the scale. Adding 250 calories daily per week will surely let you adjust accordingly. In four weeks you will have increased a 1000 cals and that is a lot. Some guys who dont care about look will just jump up in cals from past experience, like me and some other vets. i dont care if i put on a couple of pounds personally i want to be strong. But dont want to be a fat ass either. If you start this log and do it weekly adjustments i guarantee you can add or remove as you go and see the weekly changes. as far as foods it doesnt really tell me portion size so i dont know how much protein, carbs and fat your getting, trying breaking it down and sticking to it.
