a guy i know from school. I went out there that day to support him. I will post a link of a much better video I SHOT of the same fight soon. this video is hideous.

he's the shirtless guy, had about 4 months of informal experience training w/ friends in their basement.
he's pretty pissed, but hopefully he uses that to motivate himself to train harder, .... and join a proper school

how old are these guys? novice is painful to watch, he gave up his back twice fairly easily... its all learning experience though, everyone starts somewhere!

i qualified for states and placed second back in highschool ..shit hes still got a long way to go but if he likes the shit and wants to do serious tournaments..tell em to try out freestyle wrestling..fun, painful, and exciting

by the way..where the tights at

oh yea, no doubt about that. But I didn't discourage him from doing it. The way i figured, if he lost, it would be an effective wake up call to train harder.

He's going to join Renzo gracies school here in new york soon.

btw, he doesn't lift any weights at all. So he's gunna be working out with me from time to time for some strength training.

I'm going to put together a circuit workout consisting of

clean and presses
squats
deadlifts
benchpress
Lat pulldowns + close grip cable rows

maybe start him off w/ a workout once a week, consisting all these excersises, 3 worksets each

Weight lifting will definitely help, I'd also say he should be grappling maybe two weight classes lower.

Props to him for giving it a shot.

right on for guiding him. the weight training will make a world of difference, especially with a little experience behind him now. i know it helped me when i was younger...
