I've been taking car of my mom for a few years. She's had Alzheimer's for about 7 yrs. I moved her into a memory care facility about 6 months ago and unfortunately, we think due to previous breast cancer, developed large cell lymphoma about 3 months ago. It took her last night around 5:30. She went from approx 150 lbs to under 80lbs at her death. It was painful to watch. My wife and I were with her for her final breaths. It was extremely sad but at the same time a great burden was lifted from my shoulders.

I'm not much for prayers but if you are and have a spare moment, keep her in your thoughts. She went peacefully and was in no pain so I am grateful.

Sorry to hear. Will pray for you.

Prayers to you and the family brother. My mom passed recently and it is extremely difficult. It gets easier with time but hang in there and know it’ll creep up on you every so often and hits you. That’s at least how it is for me.

Sorry to hear my friend. My dad had Alzheimer's so I kinda know what you went through. Prayer go out to you and your fam.

I'm so sorry my brother. You may remember my Mom passed away back in January. So I can still relate to you easily right now. And as you know I'm dealing with caring for my wife who has alzheimers, so I can understand the relief you must feel. Please don't feel badly for feeling relief at her passing. It's normal. And a great weight has been replaced by another one. But it will get better. My heart goes out to you.

Like I mentioned at WCBB, my thoughts and prayers go out to you my old friend:(

Ditto what roughrydr stated.

My condolences and prayers Brother. It is never easy and it is cliche but judging by your description, she is in a better place.

Be well.
