She'd had the dog for fifteen years. She was feeling so lonely so I told her I'd buy her another dog. But she said the dog might outlive her at this stage in the game, and if it didn't she couldn't bear losing another dog. It broke her heart.
So I've been looking all over for something unusual to help her get over her dog. Two weeks ago I ran across a pair of rare birds. They sing together in harmony with each other and move like they are dancing. They also both have amazing vocabularies, and can speak in a conversational way. $5,000 each I paid for these birds.
Called my mother yesterday asked her how she liked the birds.
She said, "They were delicious." I said were delicious? What happened to them?
She said "I ate them."
I said but Mom, those birds were special. They could sing, they could dance, they could talk, and you ate them?
Her reply..."They should have said something."
