Years ago I was very sick, but didn't know why. Finally I had my brother take me to the hospital. The doctor graduated from Harvard but couldn't figure out what was wrong with me. He let me lay on a metal table, it was cold. I felt my spirit trying to leave my body. It was true that I didn't feel anybody cared about me, and I was too immature to really care about myself, so I drifted. I drifted so that there was a separation between my spirit and my body.

The hours rolled on as I slipped from consciousness to semiconsciousness to unconsciousness and back. Time seemed to be standing still. After about 5 hours, the cold table and my lack of care took ahold, and I felt myself slip into oblivion. I recognized this as very dangerous, so I fixated my gaze on something mechanical and of the physical world in order to grasp it. I looked at the light on the ceiling and just focused on it.

Gradually the room became dark, and I seemed to be going through a tunnel. I felt nothing, but kept my gaze on the light at the end of the tunnel. As I was moving towards the light, I thought of the rumors that, "If you go into the light at the end of the tunnel you won't come back." As I thought about the validity and/or the rationale for this rumor, I found myself at the edge of the tunnel. I stopped.

In front of me was light projected in all sides, to my sides and behind me was darkness. At that point I came to the realization that nobody has to care about me, that I only have to care about myself.
I cared about myself, regardless of the lack thereof from the rest of the population. As such, I decided not to enter the light, and resisted with all my might.

A moment later, I came into consciousness, and realized someone was shaking me. Eventually, I woke up. Later, I found out the doctor had been shaking me violently for about 6 minutes. My brother was there, I had been there for 6 hours, and the Doctor asked if I was alright. I said, "Yes, I felt myself slipping away, but saved myself by looking up at the light." Then, eureka! I saw at once that there was actually two lights above me, and I told the Doctor, "Yes, yes, I'm fine now, I know I am, because before I only saw one light and felt my spirit was slipping away from my body, but now I realize there are two lights, and because I saw one I understand that my body and spirit are as one again." He thought I was crazy, and told my brother, "I would like to send him to a mental facility." My brother replied, "Hey, he's not crazy, he talks like that all the time, I'm taking him home with me."
I went with my brother.

When I went home I was intent on finding what caused me to be ill, and went into the basement where I was trying to sleep on the couch before this happened. It was a dirt floor basement. I noticed that the exhaust pipe for the water heater had a 2.5 inch hole the length across about two feet of the top of it. AH, I thought, Carbon Monoxide Poisening. I fixed it and there were no more problems.
If I wouldn't have stopped at the light and kept going, I may not have been writing this.
True story.

what the fuck kind of reply are you looking for?

"years ago"..than because you seen 1 light when there was actually 2, and apparently were unconcious for 6 minutes, the doctor decided you needed to be sent to a mental health facility??? holy fuck, I hope your next dream gets better

^^---Posts that are in the General discussion are for "whatever".....people dont always want a "response" they just write stuff to get it off thier chest or just so others can share the experiance. write a damn new fairy tale if you want :gives:
