My dipshit youngest brother reached out to me to help him fix his credit. Aside from bankrupcy how can you fix it? Does he need to contact the credit bureaus for his credit report? I think he wants to make payments to his creditors. Any help you be great.

Well if he has missed payments, sometimes the creditors will lower the balance owed if he starts paying again? He can call and try to negotiate this, however, if he is current on payments, they usually will not work with you on lowering the balance.

Chrck out dave rsmseus finsncisl peace university. Worth evrry penny.

Bro, I've done both tried to negotiate and bankrupt.. Bankrupt isn't as easy as it use to be.. And it takes forever to get good credit back. In the mean time, car insurance is higher, etc, etc, etc.. It's a freaking bitch to deal with..

Dave Ramsey does has some great ideas, but you have to be disciplined... Is he just overwhelmed with debt? Lost job or what??? I hate this for your brother. It's a fucking shame we have to give so much to live these days.. Can you provide more details so we can help?!?!

Exactly (and ironic).

A Chptr 13 Bankruptcy offers repayment plans , A chptr 7 eliminates all debt and depending on how much he is in debt would decide that avenue.
However it would need to be a very substantial amount of money to get the bankruptcy strike on your credit and live with that choice for 7 years post.

There are some credit repair places that do good work and they basically handle all the paperwork and send it all off etc etc , Usually those places can have things removed from your credit report .
I reckon it all depends on a lot of unknown factors.....

Simple solution: will sound harsh; 1) get rid of bitches in life, 2) work 90 hours a week for 2 years. Problem solved until bitches return.

If you have a little more info on his stuff let me know. Dave Ramsey is legit too. I didnt some credit consoling so I can help with anything I know.

Do the very first thing he should have done is got a credit report and see who he really owes and which is more critical.. Once he does like previously said he can call several of these guys and they will work with him by lowering his payments.. But if he doesn't get a credit report on a regular basis to see who and if he indeed does even owe someone there's nothing at all he can do... I get them on a regular basis for one just to make sure someone's not screwing with my credit without me knowing about it.. Anymore there's a lot of this going on!!

If the bills are sky high, perhaps bankruptcy is the best idea. I recently had two friends who went bankrupt because of divorce. Wives running up credit cards, etc. in their name w/o them knowing after separation. Both got car loans at a competitive rate withing months of going brankrupt. Only thing it takes two years after bankruptcy to get a loan to buy a house.

^^What lifts said.

After my wreck I had to file bankruptcy. I had so many medical bills I would have paid everything I had for the rest of my life and never got out of debt.

I had to do bankruptcy after I came home from "college lol" within 2 years I got credit cards, leased 2 cars and got a mortgage

bankruptcy laws have changed recently. get with a bankruptcy lawyer first and ask them the best solution.
