Repost from SOI again...

So this is easily the weakest point of my deadlift- I always break at the thoracic. You know, where my bra strap would be if I wore one.

Front squats and dumbbell rows used to be all I needed, but either my low back is outpacing them (thank you good mornings!), or those just aren't adequate anymore. I need to build my thoracic extension big time.

Gimme suggestions!

The best thing that I have ever done, bar none, is bridges.
Seriously.

Start easy. Bring your feet to your rear. hands next to your head, and bridge as far, and as high as you can for 30 seconds if you can, x 5. Then once you do that, move on to bridge push ups. Work towards, being able to simply lean backwards into a bridge position.

The only thing second to this I've found is doing muscle up's for reps.

I'm on the small end of big guys in BJJ and MMA. And it was bridging that put my back strength way up, far enough to handle guys 250 and up easily.
