Wow, I don't have to start over. What a relief! Quality inspector for a construction company; only measuring tools, traveling to jobs in a company vehicle, and filling out paperwork. Don't even have to talk to anyone except my production managers in the office and they are; a weightlifter and a biker. Very cool! Settling in and I look forward to go to work and take my time leaving when I want. Things are definitely looking up!

Oh yeah, I totally love this job! Hitting my stride, bringing me continually in touch with countless things I learned over 25 years in the industry, getting respect from the crews! Hell, I had to force myself to stop over an hour after I should've been long gone. Time to refine, get it smooth... Cog in the wheel! Half my Teacher pay but I'm learning and getting it right. Especially, I can see lifting regularly in the future, and anything that lends me back to the iron is worth three times fighting what doesn't!

Wow lots of traveling. You could be a serial killer now if you wanted.

Space-Aged Gym and Arnold

Space-Aged Gym and Arnold

Been under a lot of pressure lately with car issues, feelings challenging my life purpose connected to starting over. Spent over $5,000 in auto repairs the past 3 months making finances a bit tight to consider any new long-term financial commitment like a gym membership, especially when other things need to be dealt with . Maybe that's a copout but for someone who trained for over 35 years like I have sometimes finding that new inspiration is a bit difficult. That's generally when the subconscious drives our will. That's what happened to me two nights ago when I had a dream I wandered into a new space-aged gym. All of the machines were new and elaborate. I was amazed at some of the new designs and it made me realize that nothing is finite new things are being invented all the time, and there I was. There was one machine which had a seat pad and a mid back-pad which moved. it was a front pulldown machine. Pull the cable down to your chest and then the upper back pad would lower to help you fully contract your lats. It was spectacular. Here's the weird part, as I normally don't notice other people in my dreams, I looked over to where I saw movement and it was Arnold doing a seated row machine. I couldn't believe it and thought why does he have to lift? Hasn't he accomplished so much, and he's still at it, what does he have to prove? Then it dawned on me, that at my age it's not about proving anything, it's about the action; about the love for the motion; it's about the connection we have with the iron which helped forged us to the way we are, and in a small way, a little light of inspiration came about and it stuck with me. I wish I could have remembered some of those designs.
