I wonder how many people even gave a single thought to the possibility that Obongo, with a democratically controlled Congress, could seat 2 Supreme court justices. I am sure his nominees will be anti gun, and will interpret the 2nd amendment as not a given right to own and bear arms.

Lifts, let it go. Who cares Obama is the president. No one can change taht now. Obama can increase jobs, decrease national debt, decrease gas prices etc. do many good things, etc. etc.. He will still not be a good president to allo . Because he is Black, or he is muslim, or his dad is from KENYA.
It seems people dont understand that its about what is for the general good of the USA and the world, not for themselves. If the end of OBAMAS run if the average income rises by 10 % and allos income rises by 4% he will complain . LOL
I mean be honest the last 8 years were rough on america, but how badly did they effect most of us. Probably not much unless you have a family member in iraq.
On a side note. even though i support obama, I like Mc Cain. They both look like honest, intelligent, strong people. IT doesnt matter who becomes the president, their policies wont please 100% of the people. Something like taxes, laws, wars you jsut cant agree on but you just have to do what ever you have to do. like it or not.
People complaint about how the two people we had for president nominations were shit. LOL. R u serious. I think these are the two most honest straight forward candidates running for the seat in a while.

I have fought against muslims in the middle east, and I can tell you from up close and personal experience that their true feelings about non muslims are things you would see in your worst nightmares. Obongo is a muslim, and I can talk about him however I damn well please because I know his type. I am not a coward who runs and tries to hide under lame ass excuses just because someone calls me a racist. I don't like the sonofabitch and I don't like muslims. If that makes me a racist, honestly, I don't give a damn. Go over to the middle east, and get yourself a good dose of muslims and then come back and talk to me( if you make it back)
The problem with the GAO report is that it only includes public debt. It does not include unfunded social security obligations. That debt is real but not taken into account by the GAO report. There is no way there was a surplus when you add that liability back in. Further, the GAO numbers include the revenues from social security taxes. No accountant in private industry would allow that. Unfortunately our screwball politicians from both parties misrepresent the facts.
Note that I'm not saying it was taken into account by other administrations or that Clinton manipulated the numbers.

It amazes me how when you would say i am not voting for obama the black people would say ur racist because you are not voting for him because he is black meanwhile the only reason the black people are voting for him is because he is black. I dont support those who CHOSE not to work.....But this countries unemployment ratio is going up daily....Ive seen it first hand.....I have never im my life collected on unemployment or welfare or any other assistance income available...but i am in the lower middle class of income and work 40 hours a week and have a family and a mortgage and have to look out for myself....Im sorry the rich and super rich will have to pay more taxes, but not sorry enough to put them ahead of my families well being...And by the votes, the rest of the middle class America feels the same.....Seven years ago i was able to buy a house for my family with not much money down with the help of Clinton....And because i am a responsible person i did not take out any loans on the equity as the market went up, i just wanted to pay my bills and provide.....I am still a home owner and hope to keep it that way....Im sorry all these greedy billionaires will have to help out a bit more, and especially sorry for the ones that have been raping the American people for years now to make a 100 billion profit instead of a 50 billion profit....Believe me i feel terrible...But do you think those people give a damn about all the hard WORKING Americans they were hurting????No, because they were looking out for number one, the samething i am doing.....Whether either candidate will be able to accomplish the goals they have been preaching through their campaigns the future will tell, but all we can do is vote for who the best person is for us and ours....And America did just that....Its a done deal.....

IMO there is no shame in collecting unemployment, especially in times of a layoff. It can take 6 months or more to find a job that keeps your current roof over your head.

I appreciate your reply but you changed the discussion. You originally said that you wouldn't mind paying $75K in taxes if you were making $250K. My point was that if you were already making $250K and paying $75K in taxes I think most people would be pissed if now they had to pay $85K in taxes and that additional $10K went to entitlement programs.

Their definition of wealthy is not the same as yours. Their definition of wealthy is those who make over 250,000. per year. That is hardly wealthy. How do you think the wealthy keep their money and keep getting richer? Because they know how to use it. The wealthy use the laws on the books to reduce their taxable income to 0. Bill Gates donates billions upon billions PER YEAR to his Bill and Melinda gates foundation, why? So he doesn't have to pay taxes on it because charitable donations are tax writeoffs. How many wealthy have real estate holdings to reduce their income tax liability? Most if not all of them do.
The wealthy are educated about money, they surround themselves with people who know how to reduce tax liabilities and they take full advantage of it, so who is left holding the bag? THE MIDDLE CLASS. Like always, it is ALWAYS the middle class, no matter who says tax the wealthy, repub or demo, IT NEVER WORKS. It has never worked, yet people blindly eat it up from either candidate, thinking they will get tax breaks, vote them into office, and end up holding the tax bag.........................AGAIN.

It is very possible. See this is only 1 avenue Obongo could take. He has made promise after promise of tax cuts, yadda, yadda, yadda, yet given no indication of where the money will come from.
Again we see the smoke and mirrors from Washington. If we consider the tax rates we have now, the norm, then yes Obongo will raise taxes by letting the tax cuts Bush signed into law expire in 2011. When that happens, people who make only 6100 bucks a year will see their taxes go up.

Funny how this has gotten virtually no mention on the mainstream media. A few right wing talk show hosts have mentioned this, but it’s not getting nearly the attention it deserves.
Raising taxes on people in the middle class and even the “working poor” class will be quite a shock to many Americans, who took Obama at his word, but it shouldn’t be. The Democrats ALWAYS stand for higher taxes on working people. The Democrat Party considers life-long welfare recipients and illegal aliens valuable Americans and the future of the Democrat Party.
Obama has announced that he wants to give tax breaks to people who aren't paying taxes. Technically, these would really be "hand outs" or welfare or "spreading the wealth around." How will Obama do this? He will simply jack up the taxes on people making over $250k to create hand outs for people, who don't pay taxes.
Being a Socialist, Obama doesn’t seem to realize that people making over $250k tend to be business owners. The more they’re taxed, the less they work. If the government takes away too much profit, the business owners may just close down the business completely, retire and lay off all the employees. Barack Obama has never run a business so he doesn’t understand any of this.
If you tax rich people too much, they tend to run away to another country with lower taxes. If you had a million dollars, and Mr. Obama started talking about his desire to “spread the wealth around,” would you stick around and let him take your money or would you start making plans to leave the US? That’s why every liberal tax increase always lands on the middle and upper class taxpayers because these people can’t afford to run away if their taxes go up.
Not only is Barack Obama a Socialist; he is a dull-witted Socialist. Recently, a reporter asked Obama why he wanted to raise a certain tax, knowing that government revenue would fall off if he did this. Obama replied that he wanted to raise that tax because it was the fair thing to do.
There is something called the “Laffer Curve.” Every politician and graduate of an Economics 101 college course should know about this. One source notes “the Laffer curve is used to illustrate the idea that increases in the rate of taxation do not necessarily increase tax revenue. Since a 100 percent income tax will generate no revenue (as citizens will have no incentive to work), the optimal tax rate that maximizes government revenue must lie below 100 percent. Increasing taxes beyond that point would decrease tax revenue. The Laffer curve was popularized by Arthur Laffer (b. 1940) in the 1980s.”
Now it is just flat out STUPID to raise the tax rate above the optimum rate on the Laffer Curve. The government gets less revenue and people start slacking off and working less because they feel they’re being taxed too much. Unfortunately, there are a lot of liberal politicians who still don’t understand the Laffer Curve to this day, and apparently Obama is one of them.
So Obama is lying about who he is going to raise taxes on. People earning as little as $6,100 per year will see more taxes. Obama is going to punish business owners with a big jump in their taxes just as a recession is developing, which will mean more lay offs and a much longer recession. And Obama thinks that people who don’t pay taxes should get “tax cuts” –or more accurately “hand outs” at the expensive of the same “rich people” also known as business owners, who will be having a hard time as the economy slows down.
Obama is the wrong person, who doesn’t understand how a free enterprise system should work. Perhaps he should become a government minister in Kenya or Zimbabwe, where Socialist politicians have been running things for years and where 99 percent of the population is poor.

Now pro Obongo supporters will argue that the tax rate will return to normal, and by letting them expire he won't be raising taxes, he will just let them return to what they were during the Clinton era and Bush 1. Well, the problem with that is that Clinton fell over backwards into the most prosperous time in our history, the internet boom. Housing prices soared, salaries soared, and internet companies were providing jobs to hundreds of thousands of americans. The money was there( for a while) to sustain such tax rates. Now it is not. The Clinton tax rates were too high( I mean the rates as they were under his administration). All this double talk from Obongo, and he will do the exact same thing every other politician does, stick it to the middle class, its that simple.
