EH....honestly im shock
Firstly people countering over the left hand of hatton has been the thing to do since money may exposed him...and like freddy roach said the guy never leans and just does the same thing over and over again
ill admit im just simply amazed pacman blew him out of the water like that
as far as paying for it goes, im ok with paying for 2 rounds. I go into it knowing that. But the undercard was one of the most good awful ive ever seen
Shocked? I couldn't believe it but after the fight Freddie Roach said exactly that and guess wht, he went in like he was up against an amateur and made himself look really bad. His guard was down, there was no sign of the left jab that was going to keep Manny away. All the talk about Hatton's superior size and strength went to shit when it emerged when Manny was 148 & Hatton 152 on the night of the fight. Fair dues to the Pacman, his camp said he would knock him out and he delivered.
I think Hatton's biggest problem was his lifestyle outside of the ring, it has been well documented that he balloons up to 196lbs and take his 12 week training camp to make 140, that's fine if you want to fight middle of the road guys but at the top table in boxing, you need to stay fit and close to your weight so you don't end up depleted on fight night.
I honestly think that's the end for Hatton, there was a supposed row with Floyd snr before the fight as he turned up late and, IMO, Hatton won't be able to change his style of fighting no matter who he has as his coach - even Freddie wouldn't be able to change him (unless he worked with him for a year).
Floyd jnr has reportedly signed up to fight Juan Manuel Marques with Pacquiao fighting the winner, those should be interesting, as should Haye - Klitchko in June 20th.
Oh yeah, we've a Phillipino chef at work, I had a ?100 bet with him on the outcome of last night!
