well the first cpl years are very hard G4E. Working 60hr weeks just to hope to make it by

base salary is pretty low the first year too like 21k or so

Hubby did that for a while with Stuart James. It is lucrative for sure.

1st phone interview went well. I have set up an appointment to meet with one of the local brokers. After that, I have another phone interview and I think that may determine if I move on or not

good luck matt, every dog has their day, and hopefully yours is on the horizon...

I hope so antihero

the crazy thing about the job is you have to make 25quality contacts every day/ 125contacts a week.

This is all through door knocking and cold calling. Doesn't sounds like that much fun but ya gotta do what ya gotta do

yuck, that would suck knocking doors!........I wouldn't mind cold calling though

yes it would suck but the two guys I have talked to are very young around 25 and have only been doing this for 2years and are pulling in over 100K

good god

I had a phone interview again today and it went really well. Now I have another phone interview with a hiring specialist. After that I have to go to an area and have people fill out surveys then I have a face to face interview where a job offer would be extended

Thanks G4E I wish you the best as well man. Job hunting is hard

tomorrow morning is my BIG PHONE INTERVIEW. I'm starting to get pretty nervous

wish me luck

10min until my interview:insane: :insane: :insane: :insane: :insane: :headshot:

holy cow that thing was hard

took a little over an hour and was nothing more than me answering competency questions the whole time. Pretty damn intense I did the best I could though and will find out in 3-5business days whether I move on or not

well I feel a little better now as I have been told I should be happy the interview lasted an hour. It atleast means that they didn't hate me haha:)

REJECTED

however, in the rejection letter it says I was interviewing for an IS Analyst position at headquarters. When in fact, I was interviewing for a Financial Advisor (IR position). This letter was from a guy in the HR dept. that I had never talked to. I have sent an email back to the lady I had a phone interview with to see about this and to find out if it was a typo or not. Also, I asked her if I can go through their extended training program for people with less experience. Doubt it will help but what can ya do

good news I got a reply

Hi Matt,

Thank you for the email. I am not sure why you received that letter. I
have not made a final decision as to if we are moving forward yet. And
therefore, I did not send out a letter. I apologize if you received it
by mistake, our internal positions for the Home Office are separate from
what I send out.

The PASS program is an option for recent college graduates. If you are
not selected for the Financial Advisor position, the PASS program could
be looked at in your case, however, there are a very limited amount of
spots available.

A decision will be made soon. I again, apologize for the confusion with
the letter.

Respectfully,

Katie Wootten

So there is still hope

well that is interesting for sure.........letter was sent by mistake? I doubt it, by good luck anyways buddy!

well the rejection letter was for a different position than what I have been interviewing for which is why I thought it was weird. It was for a position at headquarters here in STL where the position I have been interviewing for has nothing to do with them.

Makes me wonder if I applied to it a few months ago or something and just forgot

welp I got a call today and I am going to be talking to a person about what market i'd be interested in entering. Then as long as I pass a background/credit check I move on to a field assignment then a face to face interview and that's it

yeah I have an interview next week and did my door to door activity today. To be honest G4E i'm not sure if this job is for me

I hate doing this door to door activity more than anything haha

I know this sounds bad but i'm thinking about taking the job b/c the first 2.5months is training from home. During this time look for another job

yeah I can't blame you there matt, I think going door to door for investments is fucking stupid. There is noway in hell I would invest with someone who knocked on my door.

What do you say to people when they answer the door? Hi my name is Matt and I want to know if your interested in giving me your money to invest.....lol!

O believe me the shit they told me to say today was worse. About how I want to open up a business in the area and I would appreciate if you answered some questions blah blah blah

I ended up telling the truth on how i'm trying to get hired as a FA and I have to do this haha It worked a lot better

I had my face to face interview today and I think it went pretty well but i'll know for sure by the end of next week
