PL Gut...Thoughts?

I'm a big boy. Big legs, big guns, big shoulder, chest, (little wanker comparitively, it used to look decent sized:lang:) not fat by any means. There is nowhere on my body where someone could pinch me (my wife tries all the time) due to the skin being tight over the muscle.
With my big muscles comes a big belly. Again, it is not soft, I have an 8-pack when I flex, but it is definately distended. With the talk of the vacuum pose I tried it and CAN NOT DO IT! I can not suck my gut in to save my life. It just won't go. And I've never used growth hormone and only a brief stint with insulin during which I probably almost killed a bud and myself.
Last night I got off work at 7:15pm drove back to town and met my wife at the local Olive Garden, in my work clothes. I glanced at myself in the mirror and saw a big muscular guy with a big muscular gut!
My question......
Do you think it is possible to maintain my size and strength but eat less food? My activity level is through the roof on any given day, so I'm burning mega calories during waking hours. Could a person eat smaller portions of food with higher caloric content and get the same benefit from it? What foods would qualify? I'm not a protein shake guy, I prefer whole foods as I feel they are superior calories.
Or...do you think my gut is from heavy squats like I've been told for years, about the squat gut?
 
yes! I have done this. Less portions yet more often. What you have in my opinion if fat around the organs. You lose that, and your belly starts to go in.
 
Buf I got the same issue it is from pushing and pulling heavy weights which any pl's don't understand the external pressure put on your stomach lining and internal organs. it is hard to get it to pull back in after years of doing singles and doubles all the time when you eyes turn blood red and your digging with every piece of you mind body and spirit lol
 
I highly doubt you will sustain your size with less cals. Also, being so busy it will take alot of dedication to eat smaller, more frequent meals to get all the cals in for a guy your size. You say you have an 8-pack yet still distended, so I'm guessing powerlifting all those years has played a role.

p.s - Claims of an 8 pack and so low bf on a 5'7, 270lb frame falls into the category of "pic or it didn't happen" dude! Still waiting. ;)
 
Ever since I have been a member here I have always read and seen your stats Buff and yes I agree it would be astonishing to see a man of your age and size ,not to mention it would be awesome to be a strong as you are.
As Bad as I would love to see your pics ,,I also understand and respect why you do not post them for folks to see as I understand your past history and etc .Like me you are tattoed up and yes most the time the ink can be incriminating and identifiable as I have a lot of it myself .
Regarding the PL gut , as noted above im sure some foods can be adjusted to get rid of some of it but you are a big fella at your height and weight your just gonna be thick dude.
 
Usually big hard guts as fat as I know is I'm sure muscle but also fat lining internal orgAns
 
BB, I asked some people who know some stuff. Most of them said yes it could be from the years of squats and the dynamic of that exercise. They also said based on the low pinch of bf on your physique that it could be simply your genetics or it could be that over the years you have developed a sensativity to certain foods or things the foods contain like gluten. Other things said here are possible also. If you were here I would send u to my doc. He would tell you fast. You have built a great house.
 
How much do you eat on an average day?

Even at my biggest i could get away with less calories than i thought.
