Police chases

I wanted to get some opinions on how you feel about allowing the police to chase suspects. We had a case here in KC where the police were going to a disturbance call, when they got there a car was pulling out of the driveway. the police say the car raced off and they chased it,but neighbors say the car drove off normally. Well after a high speed chase both people in the car they were chasing and 2 other innocent people were hit and killed. Now when do you feel the police should be given permission to chase someone risking the lives of innocent people?

The police department still hasn't told why they were chasing the car.
 
well I know I will get a lot of critisism for this..........but I like cops about as much as I like doctors. Yes I understand they are there to help us, but I think a lot of times they harrass people just because they can.

and no need to chase cars IMHO, because no matter how fast your car is, you CANNOT outrun a radio
 
G4E that's exactly the way I feel about cops. I really hate it when people say just wait untill you need one..lol. 90% of the time the police do not prevent a crime from happening, all they do is react and sometimes they overdo that.
 
depends on the situation and where the chase is with what you said they shouldnt have IMO
 
But if the cops don't chase "bad guys" then what are they gonna use for footage on those "World Most Dangerous Videos" type shows? I love that crap!
 
It's funny how the cops will chase someone for 100 miles at 100 miles an hour for a traffic violation, but it takes 2 hours for them to respond to a call.

I agree with not liking cops b/c I get harassed all the time whether i'm doing something wrong or not. Just last night as I was pulling out of the gas station cop walked over and threatened to take me to jail and get my car towed. All I did was gag my car a little bit so it sounded cool. Didn't peel out or anythign crazy. I told him I don't quite think that's that way it works and we got in a little argument that lead to him just saying drive safe, and I said I always do and smiled:)


Anyway G4E I disagree with you saying you can't out run the cops b/c I have 4times now haha Well that is when I was younger. The only time I got caught was when I wrecked:( I couldn't get my car stopped when I was on a rock road. Ended up dinkin a stop sign at about 5mph haha Anyway cop caught up I pretended that I didn't see him, and I got a couple city citations. Even though he threatened me with about 20tickets:)

O did I mention I have been pulled over 28times, and only have 3tickets. I haven't been pulled over in over a year now so i'm doing pretty good. Oh and I got out of a cpl tickets going dbl the speed limit:hahaha:
 
no I said you can't out run a radio, I did not say you can't out run a cop. If a cop had even 1/2 of a brain, he would immeadiately radio your license plate in and your direction of travel, no high speed chase is necessary

most of the time i'm going so fast they don't have time to catch my plate. You ever try reading a dealer plate when somebody is goign 150+mph:devil1:

Matt what kind of car are you driving 150mph? This must be a reinforced car that you've built.

Heck my old car was an 86nissan 300zx turbo and I put about 2grand into it and it would run 145+ all day long. Well until it went to shit haha

Now I drive a 94z28 camaro. I have about 2grand in it too and on a cold night it will bury the speedo that goes up to 150. However, I don't drive that fast anymore as I almost died one to many times. I would literally drive 120+mph everywhere I went. My thoughts were that i'd get there twice as fast

Matt I used to have I think it was a 1990 300zx, it was the first year they changed the body style. Man I loved that car, it was a 2+2 black with tan leather interior. Even today I would like to have that car, it was sharp looking.
 
I hear ya KC. I love the old back to the future body style my car had:)

Mine was just a 2seater turbo and it freakin screamed down the road.

I always tell my g/f that when I get older i'm going to find one and renew it

Mine wasn't even a turbo I can imagine how fast those are.
