People are also living longer now than in all of history, giving much more time for all the mutagens to add up and cause damage. REcords of cancer deaths havent been really kept until the past few decades and even with the older ones, who knows how many are unreported. and statistically, there is a much larger population now than even 30 years ago.. more people, more chances someone has cancer

It is not a copout, this society is build upon the premise of MONEY. Why find a cure when treatment is far mor profitable than curing something. I might be called a crazed lunatic, but I honestly believe a cure for cancer was found years ago, BUT, that cure is buried under ground about a mile with heavily armed guards at the entrance with a time delay switych connected to explosives that is set to blow if anyone ever got close to it. Anyone ever wonder how big MERCK really is, how bout PHIZER? You are talking about more money than some can even imagine. You think they are going to let loose of that money and profit? No way.
 
bioelectrification is a better method to fight this man made disease that big pharma and big medicine doesnt want to cure. There is huge profits in treating it why cure it

there is actually a patent on this tried and true method but why use it if it wont make money by keeping them on a cocktail of drugs that actually kills them

Do you have a reference that Majic Johnson is no longer on any drugs, I heard just the opposite, that he takes several medications per day.

The black plauge was a bacteria actually. And while it was cured by antibiotics, and this is a complicated virus that can mutate, there has been so much advancement in medical science since then. So there is a possibility at least.

I hope that we find a cure or a vaccine at least. This disease is horrible, I am tired of watching people die because of it.

I am going ot get slammed for saying this, BUT, for the most part HIV is a self inflicted virus. The blood supply has tests in place and rarely if ever does someone get it from that means. Most of it is transmitted through methods that can be prevented.

No but I look it at money wasted and thrown away. If people would do the "right" thing it would stop spreadng and quite possibly disappear.

A friend of mine told me not too long ago, that some gays out there, primarily over in San Francisco, actually WANT the HIV virus. That upset me upon hearing it, because it just tells me that people out there don't really care for their life, and actually want to continue spreading it, if that's their intention.

I do agree HIV is self inflicted and that most don't care if they have it or not, nor do they care if they pass it along to others. If people would stop being such whores and use protection, the virus could possibly die out on its own.

If a cure can be found or already has been and is being kept secret, then who cares if these companies will lose a little money? There are plenty more diseases out there that are being discovered and still some things that cannot be cured yet, so they will always have money rolling in, they're just being selfish.

Then lets hope you never get it. Say your husband goes out and cheats on you and brings it home and gives it to you (which has happened to a lot of people over the years) I guess we wouldn't worry about it because that would be a waste of money.

Not saying that he would do such a thing, but it has happened to many other people.

Or to the guy who is wearing protection but the condom breaks. Too bad dude, your life is a waste of money. We have much more important things to spend it on, like funding the illegal immigrants and the ghetto trash that are on welfare for life.

Funny how you are so against the death penalty for a convicted murderer, but you consider someone with HIV a waste of money. So I take it that you hold a serial killer higher than someone who catches a disease? Interesting priority list.

I have to disagree with you. I do not believe that it is a self inflicted disease. Condoms break and blood supplies for transfusions slip through the cracks occasionally. I can't give you statistics but I do know of cases being reported of such occurrences.

HIV hits home for me since my sister came very close to contracting the disease. Her long time monogamous boyfriend unknowingly contracted HIV from getting infected blood in his eye during a fight (he was not in the fight, but was a bystander of 2 of his band members that were fighting). He later wondered why he was sick all the time and was tested and came back positive, and then found out that the band mate was positive as well. Praise the LORD that my sister continues to test negative, as do I.

My greatest fear is that we are being lied to as far as how HIV is contracted. we all know of viruses that aerosolize and are passed through the air (Flu, cold, etc.), so what's to say that HIV won't mutate and become airborne as well? Who says it isn't already airborne?

I think the best way to cure HIV is to actually create a new immune system. In essence it isn't AIDS that kills someone, it's the opportunistic infections that run rampant after AIDS destroys your immune system. If there was a way to create a "super" immune system and fortify new, external Tcells and introduce these new/transplanted HIV resistant Tcells into a body, then it wouldn't matter if your own immune system was shot or destroyed. You could just inject this new immune system into your body which couldn't be attacked by the HIV virus and it would destroy all the opportunistic infections. Since HIV can only attack Tcells (immune system cells), it would eventually die since it couldn't reproduce in these new "fortified" immune system cells. I know it's far-fetched, but if you can't destroy the virus outright, you have to rethink the approach.

Just my 2cents.

You most deffinately took what I said out of context Cruci. I didn't say people who have it shouldn't be treated or were worth less than someone who didn't have it. I am all for helping people that have it and get it. I am all for trying to find a "cure". But I said we are wasting money because FOR THE MOST PART it is a preventable desease that is to SOME DEGREE self inflicted.

You need to read what I am saying not not take it how you want. I never said it is ALL self inflicted. And I never said we should STOP trying to find a cure or that people with it are a waste of money. I did not.

And yes you are correct, us peons have no clue what this countries leaders are up to. We would probably shit ourselves if we knew half of what we don't know.

The religion thing was brought up because I always see people mentioning biblical old testament (Hebrew) laws, and if we "would only follow God's plan" then no one would be in this situation. However since modern day Christians only follow a small amount of the Old Testament (rules such as keeping Kosher, murdering gay people, killing anyone who works on Sunday, selling your daughters into slavery, ect) they fail to realize the hypocrisy of believing in so strongly in one Old Testament verse and totally forgoing the others.

Fundamentalist Christians tend to bask in other people's suffering. Right before they pass the collection plate so that the minister can buy himself a bigger house.

It is absolutely a copout. Usually spread by people with little or no idea of how biology and cancer actually work. There is no cure because there is no set cause. But that makes no sense to conspiracy theorists, because they believe cancer has a single reason that can be cured by a pill. Until there is a way to prevent DNA damage, prevent mutant DNA being passed from parent to child, and then to prevent the cascade of failures in the body that allows cancer to spread, there will be no cure.


And where do you think more pharmaceutical money comes from? more of their profit comes from drugs for allergies, cold remedies, and antibiotics than ever comes from cancer drugs. Just take a look at any of their profit reports and see what drugs actually make the most money for these companies.

nt necesarily true, it comes from hate filled leaders that forget the true teaching of their respective prophets. No where in the New Testament does Jesus ever say to judge people and kill them for their belief, lifestyle etc. Jesus preached love for fellow man and unconditional forgiveness for those who sin against you.

Old Testament....before Jesus. God killed more people then than anything mentioned in the New Testament, except Revelations...which of course hasn't happened.

I really need to read the Bible. I was born a Christian but never found the time to read it. I'd really like to find and use some quotes from it, as I believe they apply to my beliefs and way of thinking.

That probably has nothing to do with this topic, but just thought I'd throw it out there.

But like I said before, if a cure can be found or already has been and is being kept secret, then who cares if these companies will lose a little money? Find a cure and move on to the next big thing. There are plenty more diseases out there that are being discovered that will need cures. HIV isn't the only virus left, I'm sure there's something even more deadly out there.

Jesus did yes. In the old testament, it says the exact opposite. But they are both God's word....so either God changed his mind, or someone got something wrong.

thats why I follow the teachings of J-dog. not the old testament, it has its merits, but being a CHRISTian means to me following his word, not that of those before him

EXACTLY. The old testament was written for Jews. I am not Jewish. I don't follow their rules or laws.
