Let me first say I don't use the regular r-ala as its shown in studies to be very fragile or unstable and not be able to withstand changing tempertaure without degrading, so there is r-ala with potassium added to it to make it more stable. It does cost more, but its worth it IMO. Thats why its called k-r-ala (the k is for potassium).
Well I have been using it for about 2-3 months now and so far I like it. I have been also taking regular ALA on non-workout days for price reasons. I can tell a major difference in the two.
I take the k-r-ala on workout days about 15 minutes before my PWO drink. Well I have decided to bump it back to about 30 minutes prior to that drink and WOW, you really do witness or feel signs of HYPO with this product. I have never taken or used SLIN before, but I feel all the signs of hypo. They then have disappeared on my way home from teh gym in my car after drinking my Dex/MaltoDex/Pro Shake.
I take 400mg of K-r-ala on my PWO and PPWO meals.
On non training days I take 400mg of ALA in the A.M., midday, and P.M.
I can tell a HUGE difference bewteen the two different forms of ALA.
