Protein bars

Today some guy at the gym told me I shouldnt eat a whole protein bar all at once. He said I should eat throughtout the day. What do you more experience guys think about this one?

what was his reasoning for that? a protein bar split up through out the day ain't gonna cut it my friend...
 
im not understanding this whole situation. find out what exactly his reasoning is behing this claim and maybe he actually has some type of logic to this claim. i could understand eating half here and there to supplement a meal or two that is lacking in macronutrients but other then that there is no benefit to spilliting up a protein bar lol.
 
he said my body will reject most of the protein, I told him that if you drink enough water and take the daily vitamin is to help your body absorb more.

from 1 protein bar? not true my friend... eat the whole fn thing. ;)
 
Protein bars are for the most part pure crap. a lot of them have hidden carbs in them and other crap if you look at the weight of the bar and then the wieght of a snickers the snickers way about twice as much. if you times the protein bar times 2 they are almost even in nut. facts lol. try it :shoot: protein scams
 
I always preferred whole foods over processed anyday. That said, sometimesit's simply not practical due to busy scheduling and such to prepare all the meals you need in a day. This is where bars and shakes come into play for some (me included ;))

You shouldn't rely on them too heavily imo. Do a little planning and make an effort to get the protein you need from whole food sources.

Best bang for the buck I've seen as far as bars go is the detour bar. I don't even like these things. They leave a nasty aftertaste. But if I GOTTA have something NOW? That's what I'll grab.

Back to the original question. That is just ridiculous. What difference does it make if you eat it all at once? The amount of protein in a detour bar is equivalent to about 3/4 of a 12oz can of tuna. Would he suggest you shouldn't eat that at one sitting as well??? Just silly.

Thanks I will. I have 3 boxes of meso tech cookies and cream, my friend works at gnc and gave them to me. So i might as well eat them right. Thanks again
 
The average protein bar has 32G of protein
If the bar has more than 30G and you are a female than yes you would eat half, do to digestive difficulties. Otherwise there is no reason why you could not eat it all at once
