Just because you take in, lets say for example 50 grams of protein, doesnt necesarily mean that your body is actually using all of it right? Doesnt some of it get wasted during the digestion process? Protein can be converted into carbs if your body needs them as far as I know. I can imagine that the quality of the protein and what time you take it (morning, PWO, before bed, after meals) has an effect on how much of it is actually put to use but, generally speaking, you dont use every single bit of protein for "building muscle" right?

it's hard to say. Your body will you whatever is left for energy. Not necessarly a bad thing, but if your concerned about wasting Protein poweder, use more solid foods. Remember, more protein, more calories=getting bigger. If you cut back on Protein because you maybe wasting it, you won't get any bigger if your not getting in enough calories. I'd rather load up on protein, rather then carbs or fats..

Can protein be stored as fat if calories are overloaded?
yes, however your body will try and use access protein as energy. Your bodies last resort is to store it for later ;)

If your macros are right your body will not use protein for energy. Protein is a terrible energy source. Your body will go to carbs or fats before protein is used, but it can be used. You have to be really screwing up your diet for this to happen enough for it to cause a noticeable difference IMO.

Yes do a google for "biological value of protein" or sometthing to that extent. Eggs and whey protein will be the highest biological value, where as stuff as casein (i believe) will be lower and not as much assilimated.
