I weight about 200lbs. I am cutting right now and I'm trying not to loose any muscle. I heard to eat a gram of protein for every pound (weight 200 eat 200 gram of protein). Is that for every pound of muscle or just pound of your total body weight?

Hey buddy, thats protein per pound of BODY WEIGHT, so you are correct in saying 200 grams for 200 lb person. Thats the BARE MINUMUM for bodily functions to survive...without taking fuel sources from muscle or other components... if you are working out hard while cutting i would personally use 300grams per day (which is 1.5 grams per pound of body weight) keep your carbs and fat moderate and have fun! Post pics when done cutting ;)
 
I like 1.5 grams per pound, provided the person doesn't have an extra 50 pounds of bodyfat. Actually the bare minimum for a 200 lb male would be approx 70-80 grams but that's only for a non weight training couch potato.
 
when cutting i recommend the 2g per lb , personally i go slighty higher when carbs get really low.
