Rest Pause Question

Could someone explain the Rest Pause method ?

Thanks

If ur referring to powerlifting its the point of control at the bottom of the lift ie bench or squat then u push the weight with maximum explosion This is the way i always use it
but who nows it may be something differnet or some "new" training method that someone is selling

rest pause .. you reach failure on an exercise rest/pause for say ten breaths, then continue another set to failure (usually winds up being about half or a little more what you did the first set) rest/pause for 10 more breaths and do another set.
You may get about 2 or 4 reps.
Now DC is all your reps have to equal about 20. (our predetermined set goal)
so you have to use enought weight where it would make it extremely difficult to even reach 20 reps within 4 sets.

say set 1 -- 10 reps (this is getting real close to not enought starting weight)
set 2 - 5 reps (failure)
set 3 - 2 reps (failure)
set 4 - 1 rep (failure)
set 5 - 1 rep (failure)
since your not at 20 which is your target goal.. You have to add another set
set 6 - 1 (failure)

each is done to failure.. if you can get to 20 in 4 sets.. great.. add some weight.

if it takes you 6 sets, but still get it.. stay at that weight.. until you can get 20 reps with only 2 or 3 sets
if your only getting 15 reps total with absolutely no more.. drop weight a bit
