So I work outside all day. Usually in the heat which makes it really hard to eat chicken and rice lol. So I was thinking about making a shake high in protein and lower in carbs. Here is the mix I was thinking. Any thoughts on this or other recipes would be great.

One cup greek yogurt
2 tbls peanut butter
two scoops protein powder (accidentally put peanut butter again at first)
1/3 cup of oats
Egg whites (Suggestions on how much?)
And a banana or straw berries.

Thoughts? Other recipes?

Thanks guys.

I think that's a great shake. I like the egg whites instead of whey! But you have peanut butter listed twice is one of those whey?

I'd go with 50g protein from egg whites even if you have whey in there. You'll have digestive enzymes to digest both.

As hard as you work do you need more carbs? How does the high fat content work with your unique medicine situation?

I think it's a good shake for a person hanging between 0 and 5% bodyfat.

To many calories for my metabolism anyhow.

Oops I meant protein powder. I fixed it. The two spoons of peanut butter is part for flavor and part for the fat since I have cleaned up my diet. I add almonds to my salads to get a little more fat too. The fat intake (as low as it is) doesnt seem to mess with the medicine I take. The strawberries and banana's does however due to the sugar but I would take medicine before taking the shake. I feel I do need the extra carbs because I seem to be burning out before I finish working. I think it has a lot to do with the sun down here. During the summer will really tell the tale as to what happens with my medicine food and the sun. I'm not that 0 - 5% bodyfat though. You think this would be a good shake for me? I do work outside all day.

Maybe in your case take the fruit out to avoid the sugar. One carb source I use for shakes in addition to grinding oatmeal is rice flour bought in the gluten free is at the grocery. Use brown rice. It does t taste as good as the fruit but you'll have a better nutrition mix.

I like to physically eat my carbs instead of adding to a shake. I like a bowl of oatmeal with a cup of light and lively greek yougurt on top of it.

2 cups Whole milk
3 scoops of blue bell ice cream (any flavor)
2 scoops monster milk (any flavor)
1 bag peanut m&m's

Blender it and drink ;)
