She was diagnosed last October with lung cancer but was hopeful. I told the boy to spend as much time with her as possible. I didn't think she would live to see her birthday in June, but she hung on for three months more.
Just found out last night. Still kind-of in a fog.
Met her 14 years ago at the beach. We've been friends ever since. The boy is 13.
