Did arms tonight
Olympic Bar curls supersettd w/ skull crushers
165x10/12, 175x10/12, 185x8/12, 6/12
DB curls (85lbs) w/ close grip bench (405)
8/10, 8/10, 7/10, 6/10

Then did some wrist curls.

You did DB curls with 85lbs? :eek2:
 
Yeah. I tried the 95's but was cheating on the first couple of reps so I stopped and went down to the 85's.
Had a great pump afterwards. Felt like my muscles were going to rip through the skin.
I actually took my shirt off, which I never do in public, and did some posing in the mirror after my work out. I looked pretty amazing. Abs popping out nicely. Looked like a body builder I hate to say.
 
I looked back over your lifts, and I watch some pretty accomplished PLers at my gym training equipped, and the two guys here in your weight class are doing just over what you are doing raw, and have trained with some of the best of the best for many years. So Buf your numbers are impressive for sure.
 
Started 100mg var today. 50 in the am and 50 in the pm.
Trained legs.
Squats - warm-ups, 545x5, 585x1, 675x1, 725x1 (may not have been legal squat, but pretty close)
Back hurt pretty bad in left hip area. I think from dead lifts Tuesday.

I also did some leg extensions, leg curls and calf raises to force more blood into the legs.

just found out it is tested event. these guys are competing for spots on the Olympic Teams. Oh well. I'll go, have fun, push myself to the limits then get disqualified.

With whom is it affiliated? in IPA meets for example, you just compete pro and it is assumed you are enhanced and all are happy to have you there.

Powerlifting is an Olympic event?:eek: I thought it was still only clean & jerk and snatch. When did PL become an event? Damn, I'm feeling old to not know that!lol :p
 
USAPL. Guys with the best lifts, and totals get to compete for spots on the olympic team is my understanding, as I read it in the rules and regs for the meet.
 
Already paid my money, reserved my hotel room etc. The wife expects a weekend in Ft. Lauderdale, without the dog, now.
 
Bench Training this evening.
Flat - warm-ups, 475x1, 505x1, 525x1, 540x1
Inclines - 405x10, 445x3, 455x3
 
Did deads and shoulders.
Dead Lifts - Warm-ups, 545x1, 585x1, 635x1, 675x1, 695x1
Standing Military Press - 315x5, 365x5, 405x1, 425x1, 445x0
 
I'm shooting for 750. But my back is killing me. Had to take pain killers last night to sleep.
I want a 2000lb total. That is my goal.
This run has really been amazing. I could not even push this weight back when I actually did compete regularly.
Of course I'm 255'ish now whereas I competed at around 165.
But I look better than ever, am stronger than ever, and feel like I'm 70.
 
Strength is relative to who you are talking to. If you bench 275 then 405 sounds like a ton.
But I will admit to being one of the strnger guys at my gym. Not THE strongest, by far, but one of the top teir of lifters wher I train.
 
I just have to add (brag, brag, brag) I am the oldest person I personally know pumping out the weight I use. The guys who are strnger than I am at the gym are 20-30 years younger than I am.

its sad but.. m the only one in my gym that can push the 120's on inclines. small gym and nobody to really uhhh look up to i guess youd say. got bells up to 100's then the 120's. aggravated the hell out of the owner for over a year and he finally broke down and guess he got the 120 somewhere cheap. would love to swing by your place and check all you boys out. im still small and out of shape in my mind but the biggest in my little pretend gym and that actually depresses the hell out of me.
 
Very sore this morning. I should have done a shot of prop last night after training.
Back between shoulder blades hurts. Probably from not warming up. Pretty stupid at my age!
 
btw, any of you that are unaware ol buffy here is hitting these 540 bench presses at home with no spotter!!!
 
My dog watches. My wife is in the house if I need her. But she doesn't like watching me. She says it looks like I'm hurting myself.
Last time I asked her to spot me she really psyched me out talking about how much weight it was and I was going to hurt myself.
I don't need a spotter trelling me that crap. I already know it.

hey buff, saw ya said hit the prop after training but thought i had seen you slamming it pre-workout. so what do ya prefer pre/post and why??? thanks ya freak of nature
 
If I have an intense training session and I know I've probably over done it, at my age anything you do is overdoing it, I will do 100-150mg of prop post work out to help with recovery.
But keep in mind I'm already on 1000mg of Test E and 1000mg of Bold a week, and 100mg of var a day. So I do not do this often. but it is something I've found that helps me with recovery.
