Figured I'd start a thread where we could all come tell a story, long or short, doesn't matter.

I'll start with one from the other night.

I was at my grandmother's for dinner and she asked me how the dating scene was going. I told her it wasn't going well at all, since it's not and that it's aggrivating as hell. She then said that she wished I could find someone just like me, that I deserved to have a good woman. Something you would expect your grandma to say. Well, a few minutes later she asked me if I wanted to go with her to her aunt's house. I told her no really quickly because I had no desire. Now you have to know how she is, but she got all pissy and said why don't you want to come, you never do? I simply replied with "because I have absolutely no desire to go so I'm not going."

She then told me that I was the most hateful person in the world. Which I responded with "So your wishing on me a woman who's extremely hatefull? That's not very nice of you." She said "What are you talking about?" then I said "You just said that you wished I'd find a woman exactly like me and then called me the most hateful person in the world. So basically you're wishing for me to be with an extremely hateful woman and that's not very nice." This of course got me punched and called a smartass.

That's it, that's the story.

Ok, yesterday evening I had plans to meet one of my friends at the driving range. My boss overheard the conversation and sounded interested, so I invited her to join us. None of us are any good, and my boss is recently single...and occasionally there are some men her age out there. Plus it felt safer than encouraging her to go on the weekly club bicycle ride in the potential rain.
I went home after work and my husband called, instead of going to the gym he asked me to pack the softball bat and he'd meet us at the driving range, where he'd be in the cages hitting balls. On my way out there I came upon a bicycle crash. At an intersection where there was construction a man flipped over his handlebars after hitting a metal plate in the road. He landed on his face, but was engaged in conversation.

I asked if they needed me to call 911 or if they wanted to use my phone. One of the other uninjured men asked me if I could transport him to the hospital. I pulled over, blocking the intersection, and made space for him in the car. Just then the fire department arrived...tried to get him to go in an ambulance, but he insisted that it was too expensive and that I was going to be taking him. My husband, my boss, and my friend have all stopped at this point and asked me if I hit the man!!!! I told them that I was just waiting for the official business to wrap up and I was taking him to the hospital. They all knew I was hit 3 yrs ago, and no one offered to transport me...so I felt it best to be a big help, especially now knowing the man could not afford all that I knew it would cost. My boss was worried that if he had a head injury he may get sick in my car, so she followed me.

In the car he was more talkative, seemed less confused than when I first saw him, and his color was coming back. He asked me why I stopped, told him where I worked and how I wished someone had done that for me 3 yrs ago. We stopped at the man's car, got his clothes, wallet, and dumped his riding gear. And my boss offered to take him the rest of the way. By this time my husband has called me once, my friend has also, and they were enjoying beers and watching football in my absence.

Lmao, I'm sorry but that is too funny. We might be related, my family acts the same way. Too bad we can't choose who we're related to.
