Went to train with an old friend yesterday.
He likes volume benching.
I started out with 135x25
then 185x16
then 225 for 8
lastly on my climb I got 315 for 2 reps.
My torn shoulder is definately tweeked today, but my spirits are UP!
I have only benched 315 about 7 times in my life, as benching with my wide shoulders and long arms has been a challenge.
I am psyched. The last time I benched 315 was in 2003.
This opens a new vista for sure.
We still got in 10 supersets for chest and back but used a range of reps from 25 to 2, so that shook things up a bit.
I think BT or DaDawg suggested this, or maybe it was the Island Prince? Don't remember, but thanks for putting the thought in my mind.
Evidently, all the volume was good for something.
We were doing long pully rows in between.
I got 220 for 16 on my last set. Nice, it's been 10 years since I did that as well.
