One of my AUnts has just got over bout of swine flu, she said it was pretty rough for a few days but she's ok now.
Best way to avoid it is to follow some simple rules;
Eat plenty of green veggies
Take a good quality multi-vitamin
Drink plenty of fresh water, keeping your body properly hydrated means it functions better.
Keep your hands clean, if you're out and about, carry a small alcohol gel hand sanitiser with you and use it before you touch your mouth or eat. Wash with soap & water regularly.
Avoid, where possible, going to large enclosed public places where there are large crowds of people in close proximity - there were a large number of cases reported this summer at music festivals.
If you see someone in a store, bank etc coughing & sneezing, try to avoid touching anything they have touched
Eat Manuka honey, it's from New Zealand and is made from the flowers of te Tea Tree, I've been using this in my morning coffee (one teaspoon daily) for the last 5 years and haven't even had the sniffles and I work with sick people from all over the world.
If you do get it, fuck Tamilflu, just refer back to this thread, paracetamol (advil in U.S.) will keep your temperature from going mental, as will drinking plenty of water.
Most importantly, if a friend or family member gets it, don't go visit them, if you live with them, isolate them in their room.
Simples.
