Finally dropped the Benz off at the shop today to find out what the engine problem was. Turns out there is a problem with the number six cylinder valve hell it's $1300 just to pull the head. Only 59,000 miles what an effing pain!

Dam !!
Would never expect that with low miles .
Good luck with the rest of the bill then .

Did you have a warranty on it? I had an MB 350 and it ran perfect but I got extended warranty after extended warranty on it to be sure it was covered if anything happened. When something happens with them it is not cheap to fix!

Thanks

Well I finally got the balls to say f*ck it and go with reason. There's absolutely no reason for that car to be that messed up with so few miles, no mechanical reason that is so I put my brain into gear. I thought, "Do what you can then go from there," so I changed the oil, oil filter and main fuel filter then started running high octane fuel booster in with the diesel fuel. I figured the only other explanation would be that I had been babying the thing so much that it was simply a matter of carbon buildup causing everything in there to stick because of lack of use. After changing the filters and running the high-octane fuel I invited a couple friends of mine to take a road trip to New York City and I ran that sucker like hell the whole way up and the whole way back, guess what, the engine doesn't knock anymore and the check engine light hasn't come on in three days. Bam! Cleaning it up tomorrow taking photos and putting it up for sale. Done deal! Now I need to do that shit for the rest of my life!!

Every small airplane does an engine run up on the taxiway to clean up the engine. Glad it worked for you.

Still smokes here and there. Knocks a bit at take off. I think the service guy at MB was right, partially stuck injector. Too much fuel and not getting burnt, adding pressure in the cylinder causing the knock. Oh well, let it be someone else's baby!
