One of my favorites! I prefer the studio version where Blackmore plays the melody with a slide.

My favorite all time Maiden song is "Wasted Years". Bruce Dickinson(sp?) Is really a talented man. Did you know he was flying Brits out of Iraq on emergency mission. He's more than just a rockstar singer.

Imo in the genre most flooded with no talent performers. But not all of it. My recognition of it is about 85% shit. Some of it I really like. But you know wtf ever does it for you is fine. Who am I to judge your preferences? I Feel in a similar way about most over produced pop . There a lot of talent but all the bells and whistles to produce a hook to make it commerically appealing , to me is annoying. Still if I like it cause it hits some spot its how it is. When you listen to music , in a way you're actually making music in your mind. When I listen I often have a version in my head that suits my taste- more sounds here, less there,heavy,lighter, different instruments. A song that really gets me this doesn't happen with. I think one of the things I love most about my wife is her musically diverse taste. Music is emotions. Different songs for different places/occassions/feelings. I may love something for one situation/time/event crowd and absolutely hate it for another. The wrong musical genre for some things are (to me) the equivalent of laughing at a funeral burial- wrong time for that emotional outburst.
