Last year, after writing to complain (as usual) about my job in a city school, someone suggested I "get outta there."
I countered I'd have to take lesser pay.
Deacon, and several others, said to take it and something to the effect of..."peace of mind, living longer, quality of life, etc, etc.
Well, the day after I returned from my vacation I had a job interview whereby the school found me on the state teacher website and called me in hopes of a meeting.
Curiousity got the best of me and I went anyway (even though I have a solid contract with my present district).
Anyway, interviewed 10AM yesterday and the lady called me at 4PM and left a message to call her on her cell phone.
Thought that was odd, but I called her anyway.
She offered me a job with a better district and said they would even wait for the 60 day notice I had to give my present one.
The pay is about 3% less, but the district offers better growth opportunities for the future.
I accepted the position! First new job in 6 years.
She sounded exstatic on the phone today when I told her.
Here we go, the ride has started, let's go with it!
Thanks to Deacon, Lifts, and others, who at least started the thought process towards improving the quality of my life!
