Finished the superset challenge by the first day of Spring like I wanted. For lack of a new direction and some fun with new friends I took off since 3/23. Some of my friends suggested I, "get back on the horse," because, "even if you don't have a direction, the horse will carry you somewhere!" Cool, took their advice. Just went in today and did the old standby 10x10 incline presses (185) with front lat pulldowns, (150). A bit weak from being out and about the past 10 days till late, and not training at all, but watched my diet while away and lost another 4 pounds. Got a fantastic pump in the gym today, feel great, and my waist is smaller, enough so I can easily pull on a pair of size 34" jeans without undoing the button. Very nice. Getting rid of that little extra fat is cool, especially by the first week of April. An 8Pak and only one week into Spring. Something feels right. I am inspired. Things are looking up!

You gotta get off that 10x10 gig man. You coulda did 3 exercises for chest & 3 exercises for back - 3 WORKING sets of each exercise - and reap much better overall results. Doing 10 x 10 is so easy using a fixed weight, bcoz many of those early sets must have been sooo easy since you can still get 10 reps on the 10th set. Stop blowing your wad on all those warmups dude. Just sayin'. :)

You are right. Yesterday I didn't have much time, didn't have a plan, but desparately needed a workout. I' putting together a plan similar to what you suggested, with 1 or 2 compound movements (6-8 reps) followed by a single-joint isolation movement (4x8). Does that sound more like where I should be at this point? I'm ready to up the ante.

Glad to hear you are back in the saddle, but the horse will take you straight back to the barn. You gotta grab life by the reins and go for it. Good luck!

My primary target areas for the Spring Season are: to increase the sweep of my upper thighs, get a peak on my biceps, thicken my upper and inner chest, thicken and exentuate the lower sweep of my lats, and flatten my lower stomach.
Everything else can wait, ride, or flow, but effected from exercising the primary target areas. The die has been cast!
