Ok, so the treadmill my parents gave me is not repairable - just spent a good amount of time testing out the various components and it looks like the motor is fried.
So... I need to find myself a reasonably priced treadmill to replace it - and I was wondering if you guys had any suggestions?

I have been looking online and I have noticed that all of the ones in the price range I want to spend (cheap) have weight capacities of under 250lbs, which kind of sucks. I did just read that the weight capacity ratings may be only for running - and wouldn't matter for walking only (which is what I will be doing)... if anyone here knows about that please let me know so I don't end up wasting too much cash.

Basically I'm just looking for a simple treadmill that has adjustable incline that I can use only for walking - I won't be running because my knees don't like it when I run when my bodyweight is over 220lbs, and I don't plan on being that light again any time soon.

Any thoughts?

I don't really have any brand names in mind, but I try to go not to expensive and not to cheat. Something good enough to make me sweat...that's about it ;). I don't need all that high tech stuff..

^ what he said

i think most of the $ put in 2 them now, is lil fans, flashy buttons & lights, cup holders, remote holders & towel holders *no im not kiddin*

hit up dicks, or sports authority or whatever u have where u r.....there usually some decent deals, the flyer comes out here on sundays

&&&&&&&&& hit up some garage sales....people by these things all the time & never use them....check ur local paper 2

Yeah, I was looking at those places - the only thing that worries me is the weight limit - but like I said I think that only applies to running... as long as the motor is 2hp it should be OK I think.

Garage sales and local papers - duh, why didn't I think of that! Good call!

yea bro, def take a look....& whatever the price is take 30$ off right away....remeber uve got size, there gona think u know whats goin on with it.....im not sayin rip them off, but still.....

most of the people prob got it 4 their new years thingy, & stoped usin it 5-7 days later ha....u could really luck out as far as a nice lil machine

I had a Keys and it worked quite well and was not overly priced.

I agree with Cyclo. Someone's always moving and have to get rid of their exercise equipment. God knows it's happened to me before.

Thanks for the suggestions guys (and girl ;)) I'm gonna do some checking in the local papers and see what I can come up with.
