Ok guys/gals, as some of you know I'm precontest right now...11.5 weeks out.

Working in an office can be hard on your diet, if you know what I mean.

I walk into someone's office, there's a big bowl of salted mixed nuts, and a bowl of mini candy bars....everyday I see it.

Usually someone brings in lunch...or doughnuts...or what have you.

I've told everyone that I'm on a diet. The only thing that goes into my body is the food I cook/prepare and bring into work...that's it.

Everytime I prepare my food and eat, I get strange looks....noses turned up...you name it..."eeww gross"...."you're weird, what the hell are you eating?"...."that smells weird, is it ok?"...

So today....I get an email from one of the ladies in our office...."We're going to Taco Bell, would you like something"?

THEN....another lady brings a taco into my office and tries to hand it to me, "Here, have a taco...take it...only one, it won't hurt you, are you sure?"

oh it gets better....it was a ladies birthday today...yep you guessed it...CAKE....I'm in my office minding my own biz...another different lady comes into my office..."get up right now and come into the kitchen and sing happy bday, right now come on" So I go in there cuz I'm not rude...well the lady isn't even in there yet....so I'm there waiting for the bday girl to come and we're all just staring at a dairy queen ice cream cake with reeses cups on top for 10 min....finally sing happy bday and I run the hell outta there...of course everyone trying to get me to have some.

WTF????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? :bawling: :devil1:

let me add...

I have not had 1 bite of any food that is not exactly a part of my contest diet. :)

I won't break...

BW, I can't even begin to image what it's like....well maybe, I've gone through extended periods of no cheating in the past (long time ago :) ), and it wasn't pretty. It seems that people do it on puprose and continue to do so, but in reality, they just don't know any better. I'm sure they mean no harm. Can't be mad at them, after all, they are not going to win a BB'ing show here in 11weeks. It's all a mind game, and you just have to get that game face on and think about the big picture. The show. What's food anyway? ehh who needs it lol ;) Keep your head up big man, you can do this!

I hear you....you're right.

I'm kinda 50/50 on the issue. I don't think most know any better....and some ask and then realize..and apologize and feel bad...so no, some of them don't mean harm.
But then others I think like to sabotage people (not just me) in a way...it makes them feel better about themselves to know that they're not the only ones who are weak-willed...you get me?

Anyway, thanks for the words brother....you my boy.

i know exactly how you fell BW. There's alwayys food around my workplace too, especially on night shift, when they like to order out for pizza or chicken or McDonald's or something. A lot of then still offer me something- EVERY time even though they know i'm dieting and why. Most of them do it because they just feel they have to in order to be polite. But there's one lady who, I'm sure, would take great pleasure in seeing me fall off the wagon with my diet.

99% of the time, it doesn't bother me at all. When it does, I use the mental picture of me on stage as motivation, and take comfort in the fact that I have the willpower, the discipline to carry this through, when the rest of my coworkers could never ge there. I'm not saying I'm better than they are, but, you know what I mean?

You look friggin awesome....I bet the majority of your coworkers don't for sure. Keep up the awesome work :)

FOOD IS ONLY FUEL FOR YOUR BODY

I agree completely with you I work in a similar setting and I am fed the fuck up. I get sick and tired of people asking me what I eat and why while they have Sonic, McDonals, White Castles or whatever fast food joint is near us. Hell there is like 6 of them with in 5 minutes.

I am about ready to tell them because I don't want to look like half of the other fat asses at our work. I just don't get it, I never get into anyone elses business and I sure as hell don't hover over them while they are eating asking them why they stuff their face with grease, slop, and shit.

I look at it this way....the worst feeling in the world is standing on stage (nearly naked) and doing bad at your show. I've experienced that once before and its not fun at all. I'm sure you catch my drift BW. The rewards of winning are far greater than cheating on your diet. ;)

ya'll rock!

glad to feel you all understand...

thanks for the support and uplift!!

It's cool b/c every time I resist temptation it builds my willpower even more.

BW I will gladly eat that cake for you. :)

Restrictive diets suck enough but precontest stuff would really bite!

lol....

yeah, it's hell....but I will make it through hell...and crawl back from annihilation.

Boy do I hear ya on this one !!

Another way around the lunch and cake crowd is to tell them your doctor has told you you're blood glucose is high,
you're border line diabetic and if you don't watch your diet it could become diabetes.

Most people, after hearing it's medical advice, will just say "ooooh" leave you waaaaaay alone and never ask again.

Now IF they catch you pigging out after your contest, tell them your blood sugar was low and you couldn't help it :yesway:
