--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am having big problems with water retension. I had the normal rebound right after the show- no different than last year. But in the last couple days, I have had real problems. My feet are swollen- my left one so much you can't tell I have an ankle. My belly is bloated big time- I can feel it all over actually. It's very uncomfortable.

Anyone have this problem, and if so, what did you do? I really think I'll need a prescription diuretic. I work tomorrow, so I figure I'll have to go to ER or get one of the docs to look at me when they visit the unit. In the meantime, I'm worried to death. Knowing too much sometimes is not a good thing. And I am not usually a worrywart by no means. I guess I just feel so shitty. I don't even want to go out thru the door.

how is your blood pressure?

No idea. I'll be checking that first thing at work in the morning. Why is this happening now???? It's a bit late you would think- the show was 2 1/2 weeks ago. I'm pissed beyond all belief. Between that and my GI system being totally fucked, I'm a state. I haven't trained or did cardio since the 28th.

This is relatively normal hun. Did you use anti e's, diuretics or gain a lot of weight back post show? Also how about sodium depletion? Did you deplete and then add a lot back in post show?

Thanks Bellina. I know it's normal to retain water but I just never expected it to this degree. I never experienced anything like it last year. I did use diuretics, and maybe took more than most people, and yup, I depleted and the sodium post show was no doubt, a lot. It just seems like I had a delayed reaction. Or I should say, I had the second reaction. I blew up a little right away, it settled down, then came back with a vengeance!! But it's all good now...just like that I started getting rid of water and it was all gone overnight. I'm back to normal now. Thanks!

So glad to hear. It can be scary gaining weight back that fast. Water and sodium depletion along with estrogenic rebound (if you stopped gear you were using prior to the show) can be absolutely astounding. People don't realize just how taxing it can be to the body. High bp is a given as well as quickened pulse when the body puts weight on so rapidly. I have people to gain back anywhere from 20-40 lbs within a couple weeks following a show. Aside from what I already mentioned...the body is so depleted that is holds on to everything especially water and sodium sucking it up like a sponge and leaving you bloated to say the least.

I can only imagine what I would have been like if I used gear!! But as much as I retained, my BP was the lowest it's ever been...100/60. I'm as healthy as a god damn horse :)
