Hey everyone - new to the board so I thought I'd start with what I'm doing now...

I actually fell off the wagon for a bit with a bicep impingement in the shoulder that really sidelined me for a bit... after putting on 20+ lbs (yeah, I was off for a while :bang: ) i'm getting back to the gym regularly... A co-worker of mine turned me on to a book by Stanley Burroughs called "the master cleanser" and the premice is that you use a lemonaide diet for up to 10 days to reduce fat and clean your system out completely. I've been on for 6 days now and I gotta tell you... this is the best I've felt in years!!! So, the question is, has anyone tried this before and if so how did it affect your growth at all? I'm not cycling while on this but will about a month afterwards...

thanks

Effect growth????

You are seiously restricting calories and consuming nothing but lemonaide? There is a good chance you will lose lots of mass

If all your consuming is lemonade, worthles suger calories, i expect that your body is doing a good job at tearing down muscle to nourish the body. These wacko diets are not without repercussions.

I totally understand what you're getting at but according to the imformation that I've read (yes, I did go to more than one source) that if you use this recipie it's cleansing and weight reduction...

10oz spring water
2 tbsp cup pure maple syrup
2 tbsp fresh lemon juice

So here's the idea.. lemons and limes are the best sources of vitamins that you can find so that gives you your nutrition.. the syrup (not the sugard down crap but real stuff) provides the body with the necessary calories to maintain lean body mass..

obviously it's going to get you to drop weight quickly which was my goal and then I plan to start building mass on top - so I guess my original question was wrong... I should have asked if anyone tried this before and what results did they have....

sorry if this was mis-interpreted....

Weight Loss does not mean fat reduction. The weight loss you encountered was probably water, muscle, and a little bit of fat. IMO there are better ways to lose fat, and preserve your muscle mass.

I've got another question but I don't think it belongs in this thread....

thanks easto... steering me in a different direction when I'm done with this...
4 more days to make it 10 days and I'm done with it...

I like to finish what I start or, what's the point, right?

lemons and limes have a high vitimin c content but where are you getting your b vitimins and vitimins A,D,E, and K as well as the required minerals?

Lemons actually have more than just vitamin C... yep - was news to me too.. the pure maple syrup covers some more of them (i'll go see just what) and I'm suplementing with the GNC mega man vitamins...

probably shoulda said that one before too, eh?

Exactly. That's why you are supposed to eat a well balanced diet. It will ensure you get all the necessary vitmains and minerals.

I hope with this diet, you are at least taking a multivitamin.
