As of May 14, 2025, the U.S. has implemented new tariffs on low-value shipments from China:Reuters

• Ad Valorem Tariff: Shipments valued under $800 are subject to a 54% tariff, reduced from the previous 120%

Previously, the de minimis rule allowed goods valued under $800 to enter the U.S. duty-free. However, in April 2025, this exemption was eliminated for imports from China and Hong Kong, subjecting them to the same duties as higher-value shipments.
