buy a shittier old car and supe it up badass (example a honda prelude with a 400hp engine and maybe a bodykit with rims) or just get a nicer car without doing anything to it
 
i would buy something older and turn it in to my own vision. Doing that with an old motorcycle atm. It also depends on what you want in a car. Something older won't have a lot of the new fancy electronics, but the price is low enough that you feel free to modify the hell out of it, or drive it like a maniac.

I'd like to get an rx-7 to modify.
 
I've mucked around with toys a lot. I'm sick of it. I can't wait to get ba k to the mines and get myself a nice 4wd stationwagon! Volkswagen R36 or Audi rs4 sounds good to me!
 
I would just get a nice car unless that meant I would have to spend more money than I have. I dont do car loans.
 
I did the build your own a few times and I got really sick of it finally. I built a 1971 Buick Skylark SS, 1965 Impala SS, and an 1980 and 1981 Z28s. I drove the Z28s like regular cars, rolled the Skylark and finally sold the Impala. All were fun but a lot more expensive and more hastle than I would have preferred. I built a 400 cu in small block for the Impala and it was so powerful I bent the sway bar, broke the shocks and bent the drive shaft at various times. The 10 bolt was hard as nails but everything else wasn't. Should have had it reinforced but.. Anyways I don't even change my own oil anymore. I just buy something 3 years old at a good price and be done with it. Run it for 3-4 years and change. Right now I haver a 2005 black on black Passat 4-motion with high output V6 and all the bells and whistles. Had it for 4 years. It's not a new 'Cuda or 'Stang but it matches me.. lean, muscular, and a little distinguished.

Building your own can be fun but rarely do you fins someone still doing it 3 decades later. There is a really nice 69 Chevelle in my parking lot though.. very sweet ride. Would love to take it for a spin.
 
i know last time i jsut bouoght a nice car a g35 coupe now i sorta want to build one.... unless i can save some good money to get a really ballin car like a used nissian gtr lol

Get ya a cheap driver and drive it , and with the extra buy ya a classic american made muscle car and soup it up to the gills.....
Leave the Jap stuff for the Japs
 
Get a nicer car from the beginning. I've been there done that, I've had 27cars and I'm only 27. You end up wasting away money. I've learned to just get a nice car from the beginning, that why I love my Lexus:D oh ya, I don't do car payments either.

The 18 year old me would say get a shit car and supe it up.

AT 27 you realize car is not for show but a necessity, I say if you only have one car then you need a stable good car..

If its a second car, then do whatever the heck you want but I would never make a "project" car my main car.

I've had several nice muscle cars over the years and I'm tired of fixing shit up.. I just don't have the time or money anymore, If I had the money to buy I would go buy me a new ride that I wouldn't have to mess with for a while and if I had the extra cash I'd add some Mags,etc..
 
Id buy a 2013 Nissan Maxima in white and put some black 22s on it. Done!!
 
Hmmm, good question, as the mechanic told me yesterday my 2000 passat 4motion is wasted.
They said the'll give me $300 for it.
I said, "FU I'll pick it up."
 
I always built cars up when i was younger, but these days i think it's better to buy a nicer car and just use that as your daily driver. Project cars should be just that IMO, project cars. I have a nice daily driver and also have a 2001 Mustang GT with a twin turbo kit that i spend more time working on these days than i want, but it's an insane car to drive.
