What's doing for Halloween?

My wife & I took our son trick or treating last night. Going to a Halloween parade shortly.

Took the kids trick or treating came home ordered a pizza had a family picnic on the living room floor hopefully they sleep in tomorrow

all with children.... be prepared for a few ramped up days.

our youngest already has problems with being rambunctious.. so we immediately take the candy away and supervise her eating it .. meaning the amounts at any given time.

Some may have problems with this, but I know my child and I know what can and will happen to her on a sugar high

My wife ate too much candy and was up until three am after the time change, so four am actually.

We were up from 230am until 430am Friday night/Saturday morning putting out some d?cor and then we got up at 10am and finished setting up by 430pm Saturday. We don't put anything out until Halloween day because we have over $10k in custom made Halloween props, lighting, and sound...so we don't want anything messed with or taken. It has become a tradition to wait until Halloween also because we get asked all year what we are gong to do for Halloween and we tell people they have to wait and see, so putting stuff out on Halloween keeps that element of suspense. Halloween is our favorite time of year and we go all out.

Thanks

Had a great night with the kids. Went over to their grandmothers (my mom's) and went around her neighborhood. It was a great night for all. We had a nice sit down dinner of home made pasta and meatballs, then went trick or treating (several "drop offs""of candy at my moms), then finished the night at my Moms with the kids doing their normal trading of candy back and forth. Things one doesnt like that the other does.
We all had a blast. Oh and their other Grandmother (my wife's Mom) met up with us right when we were leaving my Moms to do the trick or treating so it was Me, the Wife, and her Mom plus both kids. The whole night couldn't have gone better.
Now last night my youngest was up until 2am (he is 4 years old) because he got all sugared up. We have implemented something similar to what Bass is doing as far as rationing. That will NOT happen again.

No kids for us yet, but most of our friends have little ones, so we just went over to a friends' place after they all got back from trick or treating (3 other couples) and hung out with them. Wife and I were the only 2 adults who dressed up lol. We knew no one else would be, but I take full advantage of putting together a top notch costume each year.

This year I was Owen (Chris Pratt) from Jurassic World and even got a raptor costume for the cat -- it was great :)

Went and picked up the "baby to soon come" dressers and crib. My dad came with us to help load/unload the furniture, then we all took our son out for trick-or-treating. Came back home and cooked up some homemade burgers, pasta, and chips. I made a homemade key lime cake earlier and we had it for desert.

I think we have like $50.00 worth of candy still leftover. My son is a picky eater, the worse, so he doesn't even want to eat it....lol.

I bought about $75 worth of candy, and I handed out all the ones I didn't like first so that if we were still stuck with a shit-load, I'd have the good ones leftover:D

lol!

My waste and belt are hating me for it though...:(

We buy tons of candy and we go through almost all of it each year, we get a lot of kids trick or treating around here so we got a big cooler that we fill up with candy and it is just about empty by the end of trick or treating, we have a little bit left but it is kinda sparse pickings.

Thanks

Haha who would know such a community friendly neighbor is "The Muscle Man"...I bet if people found out who you are they'd be scared to come back lol

Some dirty bastards put sewing needles in candy bars in town. Luckily no kids were injured. I hope the cops track these pricks down.

That's messed up, man. I always see news stories here and there, but have never talked with anyone who has actually had it happen to them/in their own town.

Sick bastards! Always heard about this and always give the kids candy a quick once over but I haven't heard about anyone actually finding anything like this for years.
To try to hurt a freaking child, my god Id love to get my hands on the scumbags.......

My 9 year old daughter insisted in getting a chain saw that was spattered with blood, made the running noise and the chain went around. While trick-or-treating at a condo village, she snuck up to another 4th grader in her class and started chasing him across the street whirring the saw a laughing evil-like. He was shocked, scared and surprised as at first he thought it was a stranger and didn't know who it was. Last I saw she was chasing him across the street and he was screaming like a little girl. It was a riot. When he finally realized it was her (they sit at the same table in school) he kept yelling, "I'm going to get you _____ _____!" We laughed about it the rest of the night. Getting the chain saw was worth it just to see her have fun like that.

I am buying a chainsaw for Halloween next year, a real one I will just take the chain off. I have been thinking of new ideas since the day after Halloween, lol. I have a few ideas to make it better here, much more scary I too I think. I am still brainstorming and by march I will start ordering all the new stuff to be made and drafting out diagrams and around june I will start making the music. It is almost a years process from ideas to editing everything to get ready for Halloween here!!!!

Thanks

The chain is the scary part! You can't ditch that. Just disconnect the gear that drives it and round off the edges :)
