I live on the East Coast and wondered, with all the hype about Global Warming (seas rising 20 ft) and Hurricane Irene (storm swells, blah, blah, blah) whether I would be safe from "ocean waves."

I live at 600 ft and not on a floodplane, so I should be good.
I know some of you are "rocky mountain high," but just how high pray tell?

I live in tornado alley.

I wanna be HUGE when it all goes down, so my pal Lucifer will use me as a personal bodyguard... :angel2:

I live in Northern MI so I don't think I have to worry about canes unless lake superior has one.

I'm on east coast about 20miles from shore. Irene is suppose to hit us tonight. Long Island Sound is suppose to get 25 foot seas and open water is 50 feet. When the sound gets 3-5 its dangerous and we won't go out due to the way the sound swells are. 25 will be insane.

Batten down the hatches, it's also a new moon and some of the highest tides of the month.

Hell you might get a water sprout off of the lake, but I think it's going to be to far away to effect you. Back in April we got hit by a dam torando something we never see in TN!
Whats got us all screwed up right now is the extra 200,000 people in town for the dam nascar race and I live right at the track and it's a fucking mess!! I had to roll out early early this morning to get the shit done before all the drunks start rolling around...

Im in South Florida so we are pretty much at sea level. Im glad Hurricane Irene missed us because we flood easy.

TN? We (me, wife and 2 kids) just got back from a 2 week vacation (last Wed) and we spent a week in Sevierville at the new Wyndam Resort. We traveled all over TN; Oak Ridge, Knoxville, Decatur, Gatlinburg, Clingman's Dome, the National Park, Cades Cove, the Knoxville Zoo, and even went to Dollywood (awesome bumper cars). Even met up with 3 cousins and their families down in Athens. Man, we loved it!
