Asked my tenth grade class (all african americans) today,
"When is our nation's Independance Day?"
None of them knew the answer, but one guy said, "May 5th."
I then asked, "Ok, what country do we live in?"
No-one knew, but one guy said, "Philadelphia."
Wow, then I asked,
"What state do we live in?"
Only one answer, "Australia." (He was serious)
I asked, "Do you even know what 'state' means?"
No answers, amazing, totally amazing, and Obama wants to send all these people to college? HA!
